Krane: Thank you, I should post more often Im happy with the way my style is progressing at the moment, although I never want it to stop evolving and improving. I do want to create more dynamic and complex imagery. Also I want to improve the range of values and colours in my work, and the lighting overall.
Although I will never stop trying to grow and improve as an artist in all aspects these are just some of the things on my mind at the moment. Great questions by the way.
I will visit DSG as soon as I can and of course I will spread the word Im not on skype but I will be soon so i'll add you then.
Cheers Krane and thank you for the kind words.

Dave MacLeod: Haha you got me I do overuse edge/rim lighting. Great advice, I do need to vary my lighting scenarios and using reference for lighting is a very useful idea. I'll definitely keep this in mind the next time im planning an image. I appreciate you taking the time to look at my work and the helpful crit, cheers

Misty Feather: Thanks Misty! Haha, Im giving the alien head paintings a rest and trying to show a few different and more recent images. Im glad you like them and I appreciate the words of encouragement

Heres a tree based creature concept and a few pages of scanned pencils including a freaked out Link and a tea drinking monster, enjoy

I really like the rendering of the high priest - even if it looks a bit more realistic on the hands than some of the other areas. The pose is a bit neutral, but for a concept piece that's the point I guess.

    Is he hovering?

    Looks fantastic.

I enjoyed browsing through your SB. Looks like you have a lot of fun designing various creatures & aliens. My one crit would be to experiment with different lighting and value setups, instead of always using the rim lighting that you seem to prefer. With a small amount of focus on this, I really think you could push your work to a new level.

    Hello dear,

I enjoyed a lot walking through your SB and see all the creatures you developed here. Nice studies of that and continue sharing that ones with us.

    Best regards

Sir, I do believe you've surpassed the legal limit on awesome stuff in one thread. If you keep this up I shall have to write you a ticket. ;D

Seriously, though, your sketchbook is so much fun. I'd love to see some environment work if you ever get around to it!

Great work ! A lot of good posts here

I hope you'll keep it. you're doing good.

    Keep trying different mediums, techniques.

as suggestion: when designing character, try to add some neutral big areas (simple and without any shapes) so it contrast with complex and small shaped areas

Tree creature is sick, dude. Love it! And love your intricate details on all your work. Just keep it up-- You're probably gonna design a cover one of these days. (Have you already?)
