Nice sketchbook! I really like all your designs, they are really fun and interesting. My main crit would be to pay attention to making sure the overall major forms within your designs are still reading, they are tending to get a bit lost under all the cool detail and causing your work to a look a little flat/graphic.

    Love the gun particularly!

    Hello good people!

Danny_K: Thanks Danny! It was definitely influenced by steampunk, I'm glad you like it Creature design is always fun, there are so many possibilities.

crankshaft: Thank you, it was a lot of fun to do I love rendering the details out. It's all hand painted but I used plenty of reference to give it a convincing look and feel.

Agerkvist: Cheers buddy! Oh crap sorry, I値l send you a pm this weekend

zou: Hey man thank you! I appreciate it.

Minella: Thank you, I'm glad you like them and of course I値l keep them coming

KrisTurvey: Thanks Kris! I知 glad you like the designs Great advice, I really appreciate it. I agree that I tend to concentrate on details and lose focus on the overall read of the forms, I値l keep it in mind with future images.

TCHI: Thanks, pencils are where it all started for me I知 glad you like them.

dragning: Thanks so much! I would like to take my pencil skills to the next level this year but that痴 great to hear and very high praise I appreciate it.

Dave MacLeod: Thank you Dave! I'm happy to hear that buddy

Inkem: Thanks. I'm glad you enjoy the designs, that means a lot

I apologise for not posting as often as I should and making people wait for replies. Anyway this week I have an interior environment just to mix things up a little and the standard pencil sketch scans.

Thank you all for taking the time to browse and comment

P.S I have a story behind this image but I'm more interested in finding out how you guys interpret it. Please create a story of your own and post it, it can just be a sentence long. Thanks

The last enviro is rad. You are in the log of a legendary cabinet maker whose creations are infused with spiritual power. Since the day of The Incident, in order to prevent anybody to use his work toward evil purposes he destroyed his studio and left the city. He became an ermit, learned to survive by himself and guarded his secrets fiercely. You finally found his retreat, but he's not here. Some clues let you think he's up to something and left in a hurry just before you came in.

That interior room piece is just awesome! I love it! The textured cracks look so real. I can see some story in it already! If that was an art print I'd buy one I agree with what you said about injecting some story in your art. It makes things so much more compelling.

A carpenter who is also a designer and a sniper was attacked by the undead, he prevailed this time but went outside to see the damage to his house when realized he forgot his rifle while being engaged by more animal undead, he then had no choice but pull out his Hamuri Kiyoshi Katana of the shogun and put an end to these foul beasts.

Nice work on the interior, its really good!

That’s Pinocchio’s place/room above, that’s when he grew up and did
some nasty things hidden in his magical room. He started making his
own creepy designs and creations out of wood. Then he brought some
young girls to his living room and had some great moments with them
on that bed that you’ve painted. Or not? That rifle is pretty small compared
to the other objects in the room, but that can be do to a fact that Pinocchio
    is really small.
This is definitely one of my favorite sketchbooks here and I’ve saved some
of your work for further motivation. You did a masterful job on painting
that room, the values, the contrast the idea itself is wonderful.
Keep up with the beautiful work, I will surely follow.

    Hello!

Alex DL: Thanks Alex! Brilliant back story to the image and it's actually not very far from my personal story for the image

crankshaft: Thanks buddy Yeah I think creating a story is important even if you don't share it with the viewer it helps fuel the creative process and gives the image more substance.

Danny_K: Thanks Danny! Great back story especially the addition of the undead animals and of course the Katana haha.

LtPlissken: Hahaha! When I look at this image now all I can think of is Pinocchio with his mini rifle Awesome back story I almost fell of my chair laughing. I appreciate the kind words and feel proud that I can help motivate you.

I appreciate you guys putting the time into creating these mini narratives for my image they were great fun to read

My personal back story to the image was based on an inventor living in a post apocalyptic world who had stumbled upon an alternate power source while researching ancient encrypted documents/imagery. The carpentry is a cover for what he is really working on as the inventor along with a small group of friends do further research and experiments in the basement laboratory of his small dwelling but have been interrupted by intruders. After trying to defend themselves their only option is to hide in the basement hoping the intruders will find nothing of interest and move on.

On the other hand Pinocchio duel wielding a rifle and a katana fighting off zombie beasts to prevent a spiritual power from being used for evil works too

This week I have some bladed weapon designs to share and the usual pencil scans. Thanks for taking the time to browse and of course crits and comments are always welcome

Those blade designs are melting hot, you have the skill to fulfill the required magic quest,
me and the other visitors can learn a lot, this is a definitely must follow ca sketchbook,
as I said one of my favorites. I like the mixture of animal vs human characters that
you are producing, simply amazing. Cool thing is that you are getting better with
your every new post, this is a very fun ride to follow, and Pinocchio is sharpening
his weapon in the meantime in the dark. Looking forth to see some more new mindblowing
    experimental success from you.

Those blades look great! Nice texture and old fashioned feel to them. I do think the red ribbons are too saturated (it could be because everything else is monotone). You have a great style and feel to your artwork!

    Hello all!

LtPlissken: Thanks buddy! I believe we all have the skill to complete the magic quest I appreciate your kind words. I do enjoy mixing anatomy from various sources of inspiration to create new creatures. I値l do my best to keep producing the goods

crankshaft: Thank you! Yeah I wanted a strong contrast but maybe I over did it I appreciate your kind comments.

Tosmo: Thank you Tosmo! Creating a fantasy realm of your own is the dream of many artists. I have game ideas that I should really find time to flesh out, great idea

As it's been a little while since my last post I've tried to make it count. This post includes two characters from the same race/species but from different time periods, a post-apocalyptic style converted bus and the usual scanned pencil pages.

Wow that vehicle is just awesome! Showcases your skill and style very clearly! I think it could use a darker cast shadow, particularly right under it where there would be less bounced light. Awesome stuff!

    Hey all!

butterscotts: Hey buddy, it's good to hear from you. We all need a fresh start every now and again Thanks for the kind words.

NickyBeats: Hi Nicky! I appreciate all the positivity I was tempted to colour the vehicle but was too distracted by an idea for another image, I may go back and do it though. I値l try my best to keep them coming

crankshaft: Cheers buddy! It was fun creating it, it started out as a quick sketch that I just felt like taking further. Your right, the cast shadow is way to diffused. Thanks for the kind words and the constructive crit

This post includes something a little different...some landscape environments! I had a lot of fun with these meaning there will probably be more soon. Also there are some creature designs and the usual pencil pages.

As always I would love to hear feedback and thank you for taking the time have a look

    Hello Mothman

    Good work as usual.

Colored enviros are looking very good. As a personal opinion, some elements (like the rocky pikes) are parallels, which can make it less dynamic.

Pencilled Creatures are pretty good keep up

Awesome stuff. You have a great imagination. Some critique: Post 171, the first image I think adding a bit more of a glowing aura effect where all those rays meet would really give it more atmosphere.

Hey Mothie! Such long time no see! How are you mate? Crazy cool environmental images up in the latest batch, that's surely something I rarely see from you! The mystical mountain one with the statues and cool rays is really top notch! Take care, and keep the good work up!
