The sun priest's sceptre is reversible,as the twilight hours are just as sacred as midday, sunlight at the top, and darkness represented at the bottom.
The censer is held at the correct height to correspond with the sun's movements across the sky.
His legs are also bound, so he can only walk at a measured and consistent pace around the cathedral grounds, just like the sun across the firmament.

The idea was to put middle oriental/bizantium flavour, because I was sure my priest would come very D&D cleric clichè. So, just for turn it a little, without going too far with my "realistic" interpretation. I'm not really happy with it, but deadlines must be respected.

"...The priests of the sun are subject to no man: they consult with kings, and pray with paupers, yet go in chains as slaves to the sun god. Each sunrise and sunset is cause for prayer, and each day they lay their skin bare to the elements to receive the touch of their deity..." from the travel journal of explorer Millas Miradon

hauntedtoupee- Do not put in more than one character unless stated by the brief. I can tell which one is supposed to be the priest, but next time wont fly.

Lakka - Your final doesn't show anything but a silhouette.
vezun - The design here doesn't quite fit the brief.
Gstar - invalid submission. No name or chow # on the bottom.

I also want to point out to those of you who are putting your name and Chow# at the top. Please keep it at the bottom, thanks.

And I`m sorry your comment here shows lack of basic manners.

The critique you recieved is valid - your piece is more of an illustration than actual character design. If you look at other entries you`ll notice each character is unique, be it through silhouette, colors, patterns etc. We all attempted to create something "fresh" and not seen before. Your character is a man (?) in a robe and a hood. TBH, there`s nothing of visual interest that would separate him from other characters if he was an NPC in a video game. Speaking from experience here, btw.
