    Allison Chin's Sketchbook

Hey ConceptArt people, I'm new to this site and thought I'd start by making a sketchbook! Looking forward to exploring this site more -it seems pretty neat. In the mean time, here's a few of my recent works. Let me know what y'all think.

Kinda torn between thumbnails. I asked and I've gotten the most yes's on the bottom-second-from-the-right, but also on the top right. I'm not sure how to combine the two, though.

If you got a favorite let me know!

I will be writing a full-fledged tutorial for this piece soon to share my process with y'all! It's been ages since I've done a tutorial and I've definitely picked up some helpful things since then.

I ended up combining some of the things people on other sites liked in the other thumbnails to put in the final.

very nice! great use of colours. bold strokes, great range of values. very lush!
    your palette's very inspiring...
though your anatomy's not quite there yet. I can see that you're a lot stronger at landscapes than you are at figures.

Here's a piece I did for the facebook group "Super Speedpainting Funtimes". The Purple Forest was the prompt.

I think I will go in and render this out more to really finish it. Update soon on purple forest and tutorial-y things!

Awesome stuff, especially with the landscapes, the colours and your style is very interesting. However you may want to work a bit more on faces, other than that, great job! I look forward to seeing more

    Civilization in the Treetops

On an alien planet somewhere someplace, special bio-powered technology allows people to build and integrate harmoniously into the jungle.

(In other words, sci-fi treehouses! )

Starship Hangar - a little over an hour. I think I want to really finish this one out, so if there's something I need to change to make it better, please let me know!

Lovely use of colours! Don't forget to follow your perspective grids though... this is noticeable is a coupe of your pieces. Looking forward to seeing more.

Hey! Your sketchbook is really cool. Your use of colour, contrast and form is very good. My only crit is the environment in post #18. I think that all the forms are of a similair size making it a less interesting design. I would vary the size of the knights and the buildings which would make it more interesting. Apart from that the colours and the textures are really cool
