    I draw with crayons!

My name is Forrest and no, I'm not new here. I used to have a sketchbook when I was 14, but was lazy and just gave up on editing it. However, I didn't give up on my artwork. So, for those that wanna know what happened over a years worth of time away from CA, compare this sketchbook with my old one... http://conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=140715

All I can say is screw all the people that said I wasn't improving...

    NEWER STUFF ON LAST PAGE

Well, my computer crapped out on me and the monitor won't turn on :/

So, I won't be able to upload any drawings for a bit, or draw my TC drawing I was going to do

I know right! I mean seriously these are incredible for your (our?) age.

    Keep it coming,
Although you should start some different materials. Maybe dragons are your thing, but I bet you that if you throw a person in there, your drawings would get more interesting and more challenging.

    Still... DAMN!

Trust me man, it's not just my creature design that's improved over the last year

I'll scan some drawings of my work involving humans when my freakin computer gets fixed

which should hopefully be by tomorrow.

How old were you when you first learned how to draw? Because that is some amazing stuff you have there.

Trexmaster I first started getting into serious artistic stuff (i.e. studying anatomy, life drawings, etc.) last year when I started my first sketchbook. Before then I drew anime like stuff

Well, just cause my computer's broke doesn't mean I can't still draw. I'm gonna go draw some Hogarth n' stuff

Well, my motherboard is fried and I'll need to get a new computer. So for the meantime I hooked up our crappy family computer. I'm scared that if I try to install PS on it it might explode

So, no digitals for awhile, but I can still scan sketches

Some of the image quality might be crappy cause I'm resizing using MS paint -.-

This is a drawing I'm doing for a friend of mine who'd obsessed with Gears of War. I have no idea who it is, but he says his name is Kantus o.O

Anyway, I'm off camping, but I'll post an update tomorrow

One thing I have to say is that you need to improve your understanding of form, and how to use values to sculpt form. It's not easy to grasp and it's not easy to really explain it here. So I would suggest doing some research about form and study Vilppu or Kevin Chen for that.
    Good luck!

draw lots from life, dude, it helps a lot! not only lifedrawing, but all kinds of stuff, especially animals, if you like beast drawing. so, judgin by your posted work, i'd say: work on line economy/confidence and anatomy.

    hope this helps

xinranliu I understand what you men, I'll start practicing that.

    Freddzie ty

Kfeeras it does help, all feedback helps. I get what you mean by line confidence, I'm more worried about studies atm though. I do need to do more life drawings tho

Well, I got my new computer and it's amazing. Except sometimes the keys don't always type. But that's besides the main point, which is I can do digitals again

Unfortunately, I couldn't finish this before the TC was over. But I still finished it because it turns out it's also a piece I'm doing as concept art for a 2d mmorpg

I'll start posting more when my finals are over in a couple days.

Thuban good, you should start one

So, it's summer now and I have a lot more free time to draw stuff. For now, I'm just going to post this earthworm monster I drew, but I might post some studies later today

So, I made some minor changes to the worm. Reduced the fog, made it shine a bit, small stuff like that.

Hot damn your only 15 y.o. keep at it and you'll be surprised at how good you get in only a few years. You've definitely came to the right place for inspiration and learning.
I wish I had access to better digital tools when I was your age all I had was MS paint.

Your work is impressive for such a young age. You are very talented. I love your anatomy sketches, especially the fist and forearm- you should frame that one. Bravo!

    have a nice day!

Good stuff! Really nice looking hands! That angry worm is also looking cool, maybe lighten the value of the worms "head" to make it pop out from the wall area? Just a thought. Keep up the good work!

So, life has been pretty busy lately, but I'm going to find some more time to draw soon. For now though, I just got a new sketchbook so I thought that I should probably draw stuff in it. So I drew some studies

I guess that you are on the right track Forrest. Definite improvement. For the paintings like for example the "worm" is, try to use wider range of color palette.

This is another piece of concept art for that 2d mmorpg I mentioned. Not nearly finished, but thought I should post somethin

Well you clearly have alot of passion for this, which is great to see. You are very good for your age, and how do they say.... the younger they are the faster they learn?

    Aww, doubletrouble

    Nice sketchbook!

Keep at it, I hope you accomplish what you set out to do,
