    Rist 6+ month Journey

Hello everyone, and the crowd of mice watching from the corner!

I have decided to make a brand new sketchbook. This is not to hide what I have completed in the past, or to hide any nefarious misdeeds! I quit my dead-end job I was slaving away at for over 4 years and decided to become a starving artist! I always thought I was an 'alright' painter, which is good to keep moving in this direction, but I never thought I was one of those massively positive words, like 'FANTASTIC' or 'GREAT'! I would like to focus for a bit on improving what I have.

I am 26 and show nothing for what I have done so far. I aim to change this. My first goal is to improve so much that people with cash are desperate to throw money at me. This would be great because then I can go ahead and replace my stupid wacom, which decided to die on me a few days into my new journey!!

The good thing is I have decided to join Mr. Manley's FANTASTIC (see there is that word again)LEVEL UP course. Now then, I got into a bit of bother a few years ago with the FANTASTIC Mr. Chiu. I was part of schoolism and decided to share his amazing coursework with the world. Oh that was a bad move! So I will be showing my studies, but I cannot explain, AT THIS TIME, the amount of know-how I am learning from dear Jason. But I will be showing the work I will be creating. Which is GREAT!

This little corner of the forum will be dedicated to those paintings and studies as well as any other creations outside of the Level-Up course.

I hope to achieve the status of GREAT or FANTASTIC by the end of this year. I am truly not someone who is arrogant or self-riotous. I just bigging myself up for greater glory!

Now I want this to be an interactive thread. Not just commenting on my awesome work or destroying it until it wants cross the GREAT ocean to Valhalla. I would like you, the viewer, to request subject matter and to see how I approach 'said' subject matter.

Now you have probably gathered by now that my wacom died. This means I am forced to draw and paint like those old guys do! Oh MY God! A time with flying vehicles and internet p0rn and I still have to draw with dirt and mud! Well I am glad this happened, I can finally realise what my GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT GrandArtist used to do and hopefully I will get somewhere with it! No cheats like UNDO or pasting photos over my work to make texture. Everything will be legit! That is not to say digital is not legit, I have been doing that for 6 years after all I just thing the added challenge will make me slow down and think about my strokes and everything else involved, including looking through the window, wondering my I chose such an isolated lifestyle.

    Anyways.....

Firstly lets show a few pieces I have worked on in the past 3 months. Just so people have an idea of how bad or good, or Alright I am...

GOOF! This is my book I have written. All the characters are unique to the story. Obviously I just attached different body parts from existing animals in nature, but this guy is MINE!

This monstrous photograph is supposed to be the watercolour version. I'll upload a better version at some point!

Next post will be the NEW ME. The me who focuses on Master Copy's and the odd Goof picture. Hehe I'll upload those tonight to strategically create interest and updates

Phew I've been busy and forgot to update the sketchbook. I'll post the recent 5 and then try to keep this up to date.

The mouse painting is a 45 min daily sketch from CGS (i'd join CA one but it looks dead).
