    They were pets of sorts. I found the mantids, a brown male and green female, in early fall, back in the 1980s. I saved them from a frost death. They made great photo subjects until they died in late winter. I haven’t done much macro stuff since going digital in the 2000s. I have thousands of slide transparencies. I’ll scan a few now and then, though the scan quality is not great, compared to the trans. I still like an old fashioned slide show.
