I work as a 3D artist in sweden,
This is my sketchbook where I aim to get better at drawing!
I'm using a wacom intuos and at work I've connected a cintiq 12wx (also photoshop).
Found som croqui videos on youtube and painted these today.
I absolutely loath to paint people (always looks messy) So this was a good challenge for me.
Some mech/ship designs
A try at better perspective.., I realize that some lines on the car failed a bit on that aspect though..
And a stab at landscapes.., need to practice on being more realistic (too much abstract fantasy right now)
Fun experiment.., I believe it's way too smooth/undefined though. Next time I draw a bicycle looking thingy I'll look at more references.
Some more croqui
I'm actually surprised it didn't turn out worse, It's still not near as good as I want it too.., but for painting freehand with no reference I'm quite happy with the result. (And it's waay beyond what I could do before I started the croqui lessons)
Some kind of ornamental fighterplane
Now time to sleep!
A stab at landscapes, First one is just some color practice and the second is lineart practice. Fun to do
Just playing around
A bunch of torsos
a small face practice
Made this quick correction using a photo as reference.., It's not perfect but it show how wrong I was with proportions (kinda obvious in retrospect but this is all part of the learning)
My "uncorrected" one looks cartoony, insect like

Wow this is really cool weird that no one has replied to this yet. Some of these landscapes are really cool. I think your work looks pretty good but you should try to focus on one particular thing like lightning perspective anatomy or something so you have a clear goal and dont make a big mess because your drawing in all these categories at the same time. You are doing quite some pose studies so I think it would be best to focus on those and if you feel comfortable with them try to get into the anatomy unless you think other things will benefit you more ofcourse! Good luck.
Ma Sketchbook brings all the girls to the forums, damn right its worse than yours.
Thank you for the first comment Dennis,
Yeah my internal goal is to get better at anatomy/figure drawing.., basically because I suck so much at it and it's completely out of my comfort zone.
I'll still post other stuff because I use this thread as a wenting place too (and I want to get better generally).., I want to look back after a few years and hopefully see progress, especially in anatomy.
Getting comfortable with poses first and then looking more deeply into anatomy sounds like a good plan. I think just being afraid of doing mistakes is what kept me back before.
Was some long time ago but I'm still actively painting stuff
Recently I've been trying out (and using) Krita, it's kinda awesome but a bit buggy
Here's todays thumbnailing, I've been trying to have some more substance and not just random forms. I'm noticing some improvements with perspective and scale so that's a big morale boost for me
And another doodle thing. I really have to do more thumbnails and iterations and not jumping the gun (as with the one below)
Still, had lots of fun
I can really recommend krita, it's quick and responsive and a great complement to photoshop.
