This is the first of a series of fundamentals questions I (hope) to ask. I am an extremely amateur artist who is working to make himself better, however I have only been drawing seriously since eighth grade (I am a senior in HS now). I am creating a game with my friends, and they wanted me to be the concept artist. While we aren't in FULL development until we go to college, we are nevertheless trying to better our skills.
So, I wanted to get a grasp on some fundamentals. Drawing weaponry and objects (like machines) required attention to detail, but before that can happen, I need to know what is at the base. Line placement and direction... anything that can help. If you can tell me anything I need, I would appreciate it! Have documentation? Please direct me there.

Not exactly sure what your question is, but sounds to me like you need to learn how to draw objects from your imagination in perspective.

And, perhaps I should have been more clear. What I want to know is what I would need to have a firm foundation on so as to be able to create good weapons for my game.
In addition tot Benedikt's suggestions, study the real thing: study design and use of weapons from all periods in history, including the future.
