Hello!I have been looking around this forum for a while and I am really impressed by the improvement some of these sketchbooks reveal so i decided to join the site and make one myself in the hope that i can become a better artist.
I'm a 16 year old from Portugal and I want to become a concept artist. I've been doing art for some years but i only started learning the things i should have learnt in the first place about an year ago. If you have any critiques or know any way I can improve please share

Here are some body studies done from reference.
The last two are 45 seconds gesture drawings.
These are some pencil face sketches done from reference.
In the messier ones i was trying to figure out how the face is built.
Some skulls and studies from Figure Drawing for All it's Worth, which i got some days ago.
More drawings. The first two are from real life. The last three are Andrew Loomis studies.
Two more drawings from life. A chair from a doll house and a shiny rock on top of a box. The rock doesn't look at all like it was supposed to.
Some more drawings. The first is a loomis study, the others drawn from real life objects.
I really love your figure drawings as well as how you show form with your shading. I would say that this is a great sketch book so far! Keep up the good work. You're certainly going in the right direction for only being 15. Keep up with the studies and you'll definitely reach your goal.
Thank you very much for your reply
I just switched scanners and haven't been able to do too much because of school but here are some things i have drawn.
The firsto two are from imagination and the last one is a loomis study.
Some more. Two studies from proko's videos on facial features and head drawing from reference.
Great job here! Great to see both imaginative work and studies. just keep on going.
Thank you for the comment
Some figure drawing i just got finished with. Trying to pay more attention to gesture.
Drawings for the past couple of days.
First two are from referece and last two are a fanart and a drawing both from imagination.
More drawings I made. Have been busy with school so not that much. From reference.
And a few more from reference as well.
These are getting better, and you nailed those Proko studies. Good tutorials aren't they?
Thanks for your reply .The Proko tutorials are really helpful and simple to follow. You also get so many information from just watching one video :0
More work. All are from reference except the hand, which is from life.
First two from reference and last two from loomis.
Last post for now, trying to block in the body, a drawing of a box from life and a drawing for imagination, hands referenced. Had to lower brightness since i drew it with a light blue pencil. I might finish that one so please critique.
Dude, you have some beautiful work here. Wish I had this work ethic when I was 15! Respect due
Looks like you are on the right lines and using all the resources available to you.
Keep it up..
Thak you for your comments
My latest drawings. I'll begin having tests soon so i won't have much time to draw. The holidays are almost coming though .
All from reference.
More from reference.
Perspective practice and drawings from reference. Just bought some sanguine which i'm really liking to use Looks good with the color of my notebook as well. Critiques are welcome.
School has been keeping me busy but the holidays are finally here so i can draw more
I bought Dynamic Anatomy and have been having a lot of fun with the section on facial features, which i didn't expect to like this much :o. So the first one is a study from a photograph and the last three are studies from Hogarth.
More studies from Hogarth.
Last ones for now. Two portraits from some classmates. They aren't very accurate but i don't dislike the result that much :0.
Critiques are welcome. Will hopefully be back soon with some perspective and more Hogarth stuff.
Cool stuff! Try to do drawings from memory after you finish a study from life to test that knowledge!
Thank you for your tip I only saw your comment now but i will definitely try to have some drawings from imagination the next time i post. I'm trying to learn more constructive methods right now so i can do more drawings from imagination.
Things from life. The first two are objects that i found around my room. The portrait was suposed to be me but it looks so different and much older :|. The last one was made with a little mirror looking at different parts of my face.
