adiklepto - like the top right - with the big statues.

Incinerated - beautiful colors and comp. Read nice already when blurring.

fragoso - You need to use more value - right now I do understand where you're going with it but the it is hard to read. Tip - dont use to saturated color, try to use no more than halfway to max till you really are comfortable with color. But for now, i'd say use gray scale to separate the value

wip - the perspective is a bit flawed - kinda stuck and dont really know how to fix it. Anyways in meantime I'm working with a new one since its a fun topic

Aissa, thanks for the tips, really appreciate it! Not sure I perfectly understand what using more value means though. Anyways, have been trying to use more grayscale and lower the saturation. Will watch the videos and work on it!

Ah, so happy my idea got used and that there are already so many awesome WIPs!

Best of all, I can actually do this one and put in a good 30-40 hours!

Icing on the cake is I'll be on vacation in Minnesota where I'll have life studies of snow.

incinerated - Yeah even then I didnt think it felt good. The whole perspective feels screwd.
made 1 more along side, that ended up little better I think

I made this frozen pass 3 years ago, one of my first digital works. Just for share with you. I'm curious to see if I can make something better this time with all this exercise I did in the last month. Let see if my two babies and wife will let me partecipate =D

Quick update, I really enjoy doing this Environment, spent 5 hours on this so far. I am not happy with the perspective of building I think I will come back to the view from my initial sketch. All comments and critics welcome.

Aissa78, I like your second attempt better, scale is more natural.
Jodali, great light and colours, can`t wait to see the final burning, there is something dramatic about it.
Bansheesix, I like mountains in the background, consider using darker colours to make those torches to stand out.

Hello everyone, it's good to see you again! This topic I like so much, so I'm with you this time.

@Incinerated, the colours and shapes are so interesting, sharp edges do really good!

@Aissa78, I like this point of view very much - though it seems somehow classical, I've seen some mountain-themed environments with such a look. Colours make the scene interesting I should add, and your current stage is apparently much more unique and captivating - I've just realised that this latest one is yours too, that's a cool change you did, I think!

@BlindLynx, this picture of yours captures the gaze. It gives mood and tension. I can't wait to see your sketches to the topic!

@Mikus n palladium, compositions are really great - I'm very curious, that would be interesting follow the detailing!

And here's mine. I took a painterly style I like in modern concepts. It took time to choose a composition - I've erased the previous shapes but they were dull anyway. Here I've already blocked in the colours and began placing objects. These structures in foreground should represent ancient ruins or such stuff - but I have no idea how to achieve the interesting look yet.

ex-machina- well, pencil thumbs are really hard to read unless you really define fore, middle, background, the 2 on top are the most defined in those terms.
Anyway looking forward to see what comes out of those ideas.

Wow, I did not realize how close my image was to some of the others in this thread, I'm going to have to explore a different composition.
