    SC's Sketchbook

Yo, I've been lurking this place for quite a while and finally summed up the courage to create an account and post up a sketchbook here! There's some godly amazing improvement and artwork in these threads. Currently, I'm a 21 year old student from Australia, studying games and animation with the goal of being a concept artist/illustrator. I have a long way to go, though, so I'll post up all my sketches and photo studies and all that sort of stuff in here! Thanks for looking!

    Hi thereeeee!

    hi there!! WELCOMEE YEAHUUU

Okay I won't judge too much because I haven't seen many pieces from you yet.
I really like the bottom drawing of yours, really awesome.
I'd switch the composition of the drawing though,
he's standing right dab in the middle of the picture and it's awkward in my opinion.
Just because your eye isn't lead much from him to the scary girl on his left.
Love your color palette in that one though :3

Hope to see more from you~ AND WELCOME AGAIN

    HI HELLO. Thank you!
Yeah, compositions are not a strong point of mine. I may start a similar picture soon and work a bit more on the layout to focus on some creepy monster in the background!
Also I'm not sure if we're supposed to reply without a piece of art so here's a study of a screenshot from Leon: the Professional that I still need to finish (ahh, hands)

Swweeet! I feel as if you already have a basic understanding of your fundamentals; you just need to remember to study and apply what you learned. Don't study just for the sake of studying. Likewise, don't fear the tedious task of studying neither!

Haha, thanks, man! Your post actually inspired me to study some figures tonight, actually, seeing as I haven't done proper form and gesture studies in...forever D: So here are some! As well as some other shading and face studies (all from reference). Also an ugly environment sketch how do I mountains¿

More studies! Both the faces and forms are from imagination so excuse any errors. Dude with the halo is a WIP, referencing from the artwork on the E.S. Posthumus album (I need to stop drawing pretty girls and guy's with swords~)

Nice studies. If I could offer you some advice, be a little more careful with your skeletal block in; if that not right, then all the layers you add on top of it won't be either. The same goes for any guides you use for blocking things in.

Anyways, keep working hard, I look forward to your progress .

    Thank you, Ambiguity! Apologies for the late reply. Yeah, I still need to work on getting anatomy down, especially with the legs, they're always so wonky looking ;_;
Also some pencil sketches! Hair + hands and 30 second gesture studies WHICH ARE SO HARD FFF- And a guy from Attack on Titan! As well as an idea for the Environment of the Week challenge but I think I may start on another, though

I feel like my art is getting worse, haha, oh no. The coloured one is where I learned that 30-minute spitpaints are a bad idea and should be left to professionals who know what they are doing. Also (male!) head studies, 3am sketches and brainstorming for the CHOW challenge c:

Finally got a new computer and it's so beautiful and fast I'd forgotten what it was like to draw without any lag in PS. All without reference, just random sketches to get used to drawing with a tablet again because I haven't touched it in weeks oops.

Some head studies from the 'appreciation of the male form' thread in the new section of the forum, along with a random angry wolf. And some coloured balls because I'm guilty of just changing the value of a colour when shading instead of using colour theory so this is my attempt at learning it, haha
