Top Left: Me back in art school, back when I still had a full head of red hair.

Top Right: Me about 2 years ago when I started to let the beard grow out.

Bottom Left: Me with eyeliner at a club. I don't normally do that, but I still kinda love that picture.

Bottom Right: Another club picture, but shows the current length of the beard. I don't know, what does everyone think, is it too much? Haha, I can truthfully say though that NO ONE ever forgets me with it. Hell, I have complete strangers that have come up to me just to say "I see you EVERYWHERE, so I had to come say hi." Another once stopped me to ask if I was playing at Toad's that night (local concert venue), apparently thinking I was a rock star of some kind

J, every time my beard gets to about the length in your last pic, I have to chop it off because I end up with it in my soup and mouth when I eat while watching TV...

Ilaekae, yeah that is sometimes a problem. I also knew it was maybe too long when I was driving with my window open and I had my hair in my eyes... a problem I haven't had since I started shaving my head

aesir, women I meet always want to braid it for me. I of course let them, but I can never leave them in because I really don't like the tugging feeling that braids cause on the bottom of my face. I think the longest I left braids in was about 3 days before it got too much to tolerate.

I'm planning on giving it a trim soon, but I don't want to go too short, because it's honestly too much fun watching the reactions of people (especially kids haha). It's also acted as a great ice breaker with strangers too many times to completely give up. I may just trim off the bottom third.

so ive recently discovered 405th.com and it has reignited my love for costuming and general hands-on creativity. i havent done this sort of thing since i was a kid. i present to you....

took me about 8 hours of cutting and hot-glue-gunning. ignore the pretty colours, it was the only cardstock i had at the time. soon, i will be rescaling to fit my head a bit better, as well as using a better cardstock and taking more time with the whole process. i plan to do an entire suit, and that will include fibreglassing and painting to look like the real deal. figure i'll be one of the only ones with a master chief suit in australia

edit: oh, and if Jason Manley sees this post, dont worry, i've posted a few critiques in the critique section as penance prior to this

Tugelbend, expand your horizons a bit. Drawing is not necessarily the ultimate pinnacle of artistic expression. If it was, sculpture would be relegated to the world of weird and useless furniture, like a coat rack or doorstop. I don't agree with that.

Stoph, I'm impressed. I like working with self-supporting hollow sculpted pieces ultimately constructed maybe using aluminum sheeting or textile and wire that start the same way as your mask--pieces of glued and taped paper...

    Well done.
