Just decided to join this community which I been following for a while now. I am at that stage where I believe I hit a plateau or something, and I need to break that wall and keep punching through. Time to get the ball rolling here!
My name is Francisco J. Ramirez, I look forward to critiquing people's work and help out any way I can, and also look forward to receiving some too!
Also, cannot wait for the Massive Black LA workShop!! I will see some of you there soon! One month away!!!
So here is my first batch...

Some early photoChopz digital sketches, and studies, and paints. Enjoy!
Most of these pencil/ink/marker etches were done the past month. I was doing a couple of sketches a day, and then I would scan in the ones I liked/more finished.
^ for a 3D project I was working on.
^ reference nabbed from freshDesigner.com run by Chris Legaspi. Awesome artist and teacher.
^ the digital painting above, I nabbed from an image I found on Google. Don't remember what website, or the photographer's name.
^ this is a personal piece I did for a friend of mine who is a dance instructor, and one hell of a good West Coast Swinger too. Jeje, this one took me a while to finish. I copied the pose from one of my personal reference videos and basically changed her body type to fit hers, and her face too.
^ from a photo
^ was learning Illustratorz (never finished), reference photo of Ivonne Montero - Mexican Actress, and sexy momma.
^ this is of the same model from image above this. Nabbed from same website.
^ this is the finished version of it.
So these are the pencils/inks/marker drawings I mentioned earlier. Most of these were done last month.
Hope you enjoy
^ super cute girl caught me looking at her as I was drawing her at one of the coffee shops I frequent. Jaja! She gave me the evil "stank eye", then she realized what I was doing and switched to "cool".
^ copied from a photo of a professional photographer. His name is in the sketch below my nickname. I enjoy drawing in a cartoon/caricature style too. Need to pin point it down though. I know I will get better as soon as I memorize the proportions right on both male and female anatomies.
^ no justice for miss Sofia Vergara, sexy beautiful actress, I will do a better job next time, oh yes I will. LOL
^ Christina Hendricks too, the beautiful red head from Mad Men. I will do a better job next time too.
^ from one of my reference jpg photos I nabbed off the net.
These next 5 are drawings I grabbed from photo references I had saved a while back ago from the interWoogie (internets). Some of the photos have the professional photographer's name on it, and some don't. So it is hard for me to give them credit. I can do so if you guys ask who it is, or where/what website I obtained the photo from to compare.
Here they are:
Some of these drawings, I was attempting to reshape their face and make it more cartoon, which explains the "butter face". Mostly though, they are failed attempts jaj.. I think for my next exercise, I should work on understanding faces a little more.

^ turkey "The Last Supper" -- idea I had for my next 3D model to print, making it a seasonal novelty, but I was told not to at work - since it would probably be a bit too controversial. So I only got some quick sketches in, then moved on to something else.
^ image from Dark Beauty Magazine.
^ these last three images were nabbed from reference videos I recorded in dance competition events I have gone to. Amazing performing artists, I enjoy seeing their dance routines - which are packed with fluid movements, and crazy weight shifts from one side of the body to the other rapidly (well duh, it's dancing lol).
Anyways, hope you guys enjoy. This is it for now.
Ok so here is the same drawing of the previous post with COPIC marker rendering on it. I messed up on her booby, I some times refill the ink in my markers a bit too much GRRRR, this causes for unwanted drops of ink to drop in areas I don't want some times when I am not too careful.
Anyways, here we go...
Jaj... Yes Dirty French Maid service. 'Nuff said.
Do you have a sketchBook thread on here?
So I went to a anatomy life drawing workShop this past Monday, which was located at my old Art School. Happy old times, bitter sweet I would have to say really. Jaja, anyways I realized how horribly out of practice I have been. But it was not so bad. I had fun, stayed for the full four hours. Then chat with the instructor and played "catch up".
^^^^ Those are my best sketches I did for that day. Enjoy!
