Master Studies. 2 William Bouguereau paintings.
Here's 2 master studies I did during the weekend. Both are copies of William Bougeureau paintings, I'm a big fan of his art. The first one is of the painting called "Biblis" and the second one is a detail from the artwork "The broken pitcher".
Both paintings are done in photoshop.

is much more detailed and refined than your rendition. also the pose is similar but not the same. Notice the height of the elbow, the angle of the upper arm. Also the colors are off.
Edit: did not mean to sound like i did not like them -- it was late at night. They're better than what i could do i bet ;-)
You could improve these by spending more time on them i bet.

Don't get discouraged because you're not as good as bourguereau yet! Keep at it, they're not bad.

It's pretty awesome the way he handles his contrasts isnt it? the light and dark areas are just placed perfectly - I bet in the one with that girl, the back ground isnt pure white tho' - I'd imagine there are subtle warm tones in the clouds and horizon...the glow around her face catching all the little hairs is a great trick....how fast are these? One thing about his color you might not be catching is his very grey/blue greens - the grass under the reclining girl is a bit too yellow in yours...keep studying - I should too, lol
