My name is Emanuele, I'm Italian and I started practicing drawing and painting two years ago. I decided to open a sketchbook here to force myself to be more constant in exercise and getting some advices from good people of conceptArt.org
Those studies look good. Maybe doing some 30 sec drawing in posemaniacs.com will help you with the speed, also practicing a lot will help. Keep on it!
Just two years? hard to believe. My fav is the first one, the color selection, the shapes, the hands...the selfportrait is also really good. The nude may get better with a harder brush, but I'm not 100% about this, cause I'm pretty new at digital.
Hello to you all, thanks for the comments! I sometimes draw using this website: http://artists.pixelovely.com/practi...igure-drawing/
I like it very much because it starts with 30 seconds studies and it progressively gives you more time to do more detailed studies.
@Jean : yes, actually i draw since i was 3 but i started to take this thing more seriously only two years ago. you can see my progress in my blog, http://runningpencils.blogspot.com
here's the portrait of my girlfriend, done using a crappy picture taken on facebook and adding the rest of the detail using the others
hello, here's another painting I did for practice. It is based on a photo so I don't think it can be considered a sketch from life. I am still struggling a lot with the brushwork. I would love to get rid of this noisy look, but I can't avoid making thousands of little color corrections around the painting, which results in this look.
Hello, I wanted to add another from today's training because I am quite happy of the result. I started this yesterday, working on it for one hour and today I believe I studied the arm for another two, and I believe that the next time it will be hard to get the same good result because I believe that part of it was due to mere chance. Anyway I changed a little my working method.
Hello, another practice piece. trying to get the color as close as possible, the forms as simple as possible, minimizing the swashes. This was done at this resolution, I begin to think that being exercises there's no need to work on a 3000 px wide image.
The first one is absolutely stunning. So is the arm and hand study.
I really like the black and white one, did you do more in this style? If yes, I'd really like to see them!
Look what I did! Vep's sketchbook
