I like yr sketchbook, you have some good drawings. I love how you did the fur on the first page.
Thanks for the welcome and advice on mine too!
You're really working hard. Nice to see your progress. Love your ink studies, and I think the last still life was rather good
Drawing is the honesty of the art. There is no possibility of cheating. It is either good or bad.
Keep it up! (= Moar!
Hi there! :3 mmmm SNK
So something of yours that I think is good is your use line varying width with the liner/pen thing.
Also I love your traditional paints, the colors are nicely blended together... don't mix too much though since they can get muddy!
I have a question, what's the purpose of all the circles within straight lines? hand control?
Oh yeah, keep up your work !!
Working harder than me /sahbb
Zauselbart: Will check that later ^^
adyM: Thanks a lot ^^ You're welcome!
ainabh: Thank you! I'm glad that you think I'm working hard, sometimes I can feel so lazy.
Nihil_: I will post more soon!
Pou: Thank you! You mean the one that I did with a blue colour?
How do you notice this muddy look? (I'm not so experienced so I don't know what you're talking about xD) But maybe I got this look becouse of my camera?
Because these paintings doesn't look similar to the original ones, the colours are more visible and not so mixed together.
Yes, control! And you will get more cleaner lines I guess... and more confident lines.
Thank you! I try ^^ I will post up more soon.
UPDATE: I have changed my schedule a little and now I will try to only focus on anatomy, perspective and still life studies.
I don't feel like I'm getting anywhere, but I will keep going!
Drawing people is hard, especially when they can't be still.
Gestures (Will post less next time)
Youtube people, still life, hands and fun stuff.
I did something interesting, I tried to study some faces, and after a day, I tried to visualize them then draw them again.
I think I got the likeness down a little bit, but wow, I really have to study different features. The nose looks unnatural.
I'm wondering how the faces would look like if I tried to draw them again, it's been some days now so I think I have forgotten more.
Gestures, fun stuff, croquis and feet.
I'm so glad that I have updated! I hope I will do this more often.
Hiya! You have some awesome stuff here Really digging the fanarts Also your still lives are pretty impressive. Sorry I have no critique to offer, just continue to draw stuff from life and books and you'll be fine Oh and imagination too :3
I would say both, and the four basic forms too. Since when you can draw them well, it's easy to simplify objects and anatomy, or anything you wish to draw. That's what I'm trying to do at the moment myself
Heya, first off thanks for signing my sketchbook and the motivation boost ^^. Sometimes you just get caught up in other work that you forget the rest!
Secondly, So many studies! I must applaud you! Keep on going and you'll get there no doubt. Lastly don't forget to just have fun like others said, I don't know about you but sometimes you just want to doodle away and just see where you end up and then hide it in your secret stash :p.
Hi. I've been lately busy so I didn't have time so far to reply to your sketchbook. Anyway, you have some nice studies. Keep it up!
Tja carro! Saker ser verkligen ut att börja ta form! Utifrån dina krokibilder ser jag tydligt att du har börjat använda dina ögon extra mycket för att se vinklar och shapes som shapes, och inte som föremål typ. Fortsätt köra Keep being busy girl!
Hey Carro, neat sketchbook. I certainly see some improvement from the first page. I think you are doing the right things, you should be building up mileage at this stage which means drawwwwwwww as much as you can. You need to train your eye to be able to judge tilts and see shapes and recognize proportions. I will recommend doing studies from life and from books. Make it a goal to have your studies from a book as accurate as possible, you want to train your eye to recognize tilts and shapes, from now on when you draw from observation look for shapes, train your eyes to recognize the abstract and not an eye as an eye or a nose as a nose, finding animal shapes help me when I am drawing from life.
dDissAa: No problem! Yeah I know, but sometimes I hesitate because I usually don't know what to draw by myself. I usually end up with faces.
I try to do fun stuff as well. Thank you!
Greeper: Thank you ^^ Cheers!
Murderotic: Tja! Glad att du märker något haha, jag är fortfarande lika blind. I will!
TNiznet: Sorry, but what do you mean by mileage? Okay, I will try! I haven't done studies from books that much because I'm focusing on the skeleton, but I will soon begin with reading some from Loomis and Bridgman. I will study from life too. Thank you for helping me!
This will be my last post, because I will soon travel to Thailand!!!!!!!!!! I will try to draw many cool stuff when I'm there.
Some studies, fun stuff and some are drawn from my imagination. Whenever I feel bored, I just draw a lot of faces from the same angles... I should try to do different doodles sometimes.
I also want to wish you all a Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year! I know I won't have time to log in here until I come home again.
But wow. Compared to the other years, this year has been my most productive one. And I'm happy about that! Thank you Tristan, for showing me this site!
I hope I will continue with this sketchbook.
Hey Carro Happy Xmas and new year! I second what TNiznet said, I'm still a noob but that seems to be the idea behind those awesome atelier pieces and all of that bargue stuff. Seems to help with making things look accurate. Like this vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9602-...tLZ9mjOa6GaVxg
And check out sycra on youtube if you havent already
Cool update! Can't wait to see what you'll sketch in Thailand

Hello guys. This will be a bit personal but I don't mind telling you this.
I had an amazing life in Thailand, I got out everyday and I met new friends. Before I got there I was always inside my room. I only focused on drawing and being active on social sites, but I didn't realize how unhealthy I was living. I felt worried, sad and lonely most of the time. And now I don't feel like updating for a while, I really don't have the motivation to practice or to scan all those pages. What I do feel like doing, is to make personal drawings, because I got ideas from my trip. I told myself to stop doing personal things, because then it would take even more time to become good. But I realize that it's important to stay creative and to just have fun. I know that you guys told me this too, and I tried to sketch and doodle, but I somehow didn't enjoy it that much.
But I feel more excited now that I got ideas, so I will work on those now. I'm not sure when I will come back.
I really don't want to go back to how I was before, I need to also socialize.
Excellent studies and still life drawings. The foreshortened girl lying down in post 17 stands out to me. Great work keep it up.
Hi, here's a small update. I have done more than these but I didn't take any pictures of the rest.
I'm still drawing everyday, but I haven't made so many studies. I feel quiet bad about not being active here.
Self portrait... Doesn't look like me at all.
Urgh where's my motivation...
Good to hear you had fun in Thailand Nice updates, especially the last ink work!
Thank you for stopping by my sketchbook. I still have a long way to go but I'll just share what worked and didn't work for me (remember everyone's brain works in a different way so you will have to find your own methods)
I think studying perspective is the number one most important skill in art. This doesn't mean draw 100s of boxes in 2 pt perspective or whatever, you can have a little bit of fun with it since it applies to everything we draw. so when drawing heads or the human body just envision them in a box with a front plane/side plane. As long as you're aware of it, your perspective skills should grow intuitively.
Secondly, I strongly believe in studying action/movement over anatomical details. I think anatomy and muscle study is useful but I really struggled when drawing from imagination when I did those studies because I wasn't thinking holistically. Instead it was me drawing a deltoid, pectorals and whatever... not really helpful when I'm simply trying to draw a teacher standing in front of the classroom. Always think big picture. Simplifying into simple shapes (like learning vocabulary) that suggest perspective and form is the probably the easiest way to store gestures into your visual library. Just take a look at any animator's sketchbook.
I loved your Levi drawings, keep going!
Hey, that last black inky drawing is friggin' awesome. Keep it up.
CA-Disciple: Hey no problem! I did a few perspective studies before, but I got bored with them :/ I will try to follow your tip.
And I understand what you mean. I shall think about what you said. Perspective and form.
Mini Super Ben: Thanks, glad you liked it ^^
Here are some old studies. I haven't been into studying or updating that much. Right now I just try to have fun and sketch. But I need to get back soon again. I don't want to give up.
Maybe I should get a sketch buddy? If you like that idea, please, let me know!
I love to carry this little sketchbook with me. I made a rule to only do doodles and real life studies in it.
(Some of these are done inside a bus)
More fanart... because I love doing it. I just take it easy when drawing in ps ^^ But I will soon do some studies too.
Your lifes are fine. Leads up on basic drawing (cube, rectangle, spheres, ellipse and then applies it to reality. Such as your mobile phone or your TV. Tries to see the perspective lines and applies. Good job. Keep it up !!
Holy sketches! Thank you for stopping by my sketchbook, it looks like you've been busy enough as it is. lol
Your recent stuff looks really good, the only thing I can see is it might need a little more contrast in the black and white. Keep it up.
Fefe: I think I get you. I should break things down a bit more. I have been lazy about thinking while drawing. I tend to just draw what I see when I draw in that little book. But I need to do some proper studies on perspective someday.
Jackadelia: No problem! And thanks a lot! Yeah, you got a point. I get bored pretty fast when I do studies so I don't focus so much on the shading.
I told myself to scan and upload my recent stuff during this weekend but nope... What's with me? xD
At least I can show my digital stuff:
I know, not a lot. I got happy with the last one. I saw a nice fanart and I tried to mimick the colours because I relly loved them.
I really have to work on colours too. I almost know nothing about how to work with colours on my own.
I also have started with a new drawing (fanart again), but I'm afraid to continue on it... because I really want to make it good.
I would love to make a nice background with awesome details and colours. But I still don't know about what I want to show.
He's ready to fight anyway. Is the anatomy correct? I feel like there's something off with his arms.

Really cool studies!
I especially like how you construct hands, gonna try that! ^^
I've been drawing for: half a year!
I have finally scanned some of my studies! I just scanned two pages of my line practices and gestures since it takes time to scan all of them, same goes for the croquis.
Maybe not my best ones, I will choose better studies next time.
In school we had to study our own features and then I tried to do a self-portrait again. I don' know if I have improved but I'm still not even close to the likeness, and I have to work on the shading more... it's so hard doing real life studies.
Stuff from my little sketchbook ^^ I love to look at them.
Fanart, original drawing, crappy made up poses.
I played Kingdom Hearts and made small studies of the main character. And when I looked at them again, I noticed that I felt some satisfaction. I think I really enjoy it when I look at really appealing characters. This has such a cool design and... I just felt so happy to see these small sketches, to see the character from other angles, like it was coming to life.
What if I could come up with something awesome like this? I know I would love it, but I think I'm afraid to try.
I have do do more studies and be more productive
