Lepidoptera and the Frog
This is a digital and oil painting hybrid. I scanned an abandoned oil painting I did years ago, brought it into Photoshop and removed a chipmunk from the log and added a digitally painted sprite. The original oil was reworked in PS throughout.

Really nice stuff good strong color and drawing
dpaint – Thanks.
Here are some oils, painted over 10 years ago, just before my digital conversion. My goal now is to get back into oils with a looser technique.
Chickens – 2000
(My last oil painting before going digital)
Eye of the Tempest – 2000
Inspiration for the gull was this photo of a gull I shot on a wall waiting for a feeding opportunity at the Philadelphia zoo.
Alpha Pair – 1998
The background was softened in PS on this one.
Cloud Shadow – 1998
The inspiration for the eagle portrait was from this bad candid photo I shot at a zoo of a rescued eagle with flight inhibiting permanent wing damage.

These are neat. I love the vibrant colors.
I like your Lepidoptera and the Frog illustration, nice details.
Dem wolves...DEM WOLVES! But honestly, great work. Very detailed and colorful. Very much enjoyed this.
Hey Bill, Good to see you setting up a finally finished thread. It's about bloody time! Lol.
Love the colours and sky in the first one. In fact, I love your colours throughout but I might already have mentioned that elsewhere. Oops.
Fantastic work as always. Thanks for sharing and I hope you post more new stuff soon.

Thanks for the comments, everyone.
Wow, it’s been a year and a half since I posted here.
Here’s a wyvern painted in Photoshop. No 3d stuff.
B&W started version. Again, done in Photoshop.
Summoned - Drawn and painted in Photoshop. The dragon in an earlier post started as a study for this piece. Now it's where it was intended.

Love all your digital pieces and the oil paintings are great as well. The sky and cloud shadows really liven up your landscape in post 11. That rooster painting in post 3 is fantastic. Awesome plumage and lighting. Hope to see plenty more of your work.
