    Hello everybody

This is my first time posting in this forum. Haven't even set up my sketchbook yet.

I used to draw a lot but then had a big break with barely any time of drawing. Now I'm getting started again and doing my very best to become a serious artist. I've always loved drawing and painting and want to push my abilities further. That's why today I tried the Quickposes-training with 90 seconds per photograph. It's new to me, so I still need a lot of practice.

For your feedback and tips I'm more than thankful. Let's have fun in here and learn a lot!

P.S.: If anybody of you guys have an idea how to photograph and present analog artwork in a better way, please let me know.

Yesterday I tried some warriors. Because I felt it wasn't enough time in my female silhouette drawing session I chose 120 seconds this time.

I'm happy to get your feedback.

So The amount of pictures I'm dropping is pretty big. So I've put them in an imgur album instead of right into the post. I hope that's okay?

These are some 1 minute poses I've done. I'm not sure if I'm getting a handle on the concept. So I welcome all critique that anybody is willing to give.

Here are a handfull of my gesture drawings I've did this week. I hope that the scanner didn't ruin them. Any feedback/advice is appreciated.

Ah sorry about that. I've done this next batch in ink. So hopefully they are more clear.

Photos below were Male/120 sec/30 poses, more focus on muscle then pose.

    Here's a few 1 minute gestures I've done:

    Name: 1minposes_11-17-17.jpg
Views: 3454
Size: 114.8 KB

I also decided to do a session of random poses with increasing time spent on them:

    1 minute sketches:

    Name: 1minposes_11-18-17.png
Views: 3458
Size: 343.0 KB

    2 minute sketches:

    Name: 2minposes_11-18-17.png
Views: 3458
Size: 265.2 KB

    5 minute sketch:

    Name: 5minpose_11-18-17.jpg
Views: 3452
Size: 63.3 KB

10 minute sketch with some value:

    Name: 10minpose_11-18-17.png
Views: 3444
Size: 387.1 KB

    25 minute transparency painting:

    Name: 25minpose_11-18-17.jpg
Views: 3440
Size: 81.5 KB

    50 minute grayscale painting:

    Name: 50minpose_11-18-17.jpg
Views: 3439
Size: 65.4 KB

How are my proportions for my sketches? How well is the value portrayed in the two paintings? Any critiques on these drawings is much appreciated!

Last time I posted some of my gesture drawings here was over 2 weeks ago. So here are some more.
I don't think I'm improving to be honest. Anybody can help me spot the problems and give me a bit of direction on how to fix em? It would be appreciated.

For some reason the rest of the images didn't want to upload. So I put them in an imgur album that I'll link here.

Can someone explain what I'm supposed to take away from "gesture drawing"? I've been trying to look for a solid answer but so far I've come up empty-handed. I'm trying to learn how to draw characters and poses but gesture drawing has not helped. In fact, sometimes it's pretty frustrating to try to see form in the poses when they're in impossibly foreshortened angles.
