    Hey Mike!

thanks a bunch again for the help and the scanned page!

I'd love to give some crits and suggestions but theyre already awesome! Although I could pitch in if youre trying to loosen up. What I did to help me with the loosen up thing,is sit in class and just drawing random huge lines on my paper. I guess its the muscle memory thing, hope it helps!

Btw, the digi is kickass! I love the colors. Although maybe a bit more contrast to shift the focus on the characters would help.

Dished - Thanks, no problem, glad to help. Thanks for the critique, I agree there is not a very good color/value separation between the characters and the bg. Will keep that in mind if I go back to it.

Here's some new sketches -- these are a little messier than I usually like to post , I've been trying to loosen up and just let myself be sketchy, focusing on lines and construction more.

That's some great stuff. When you're doing faces though, remember that you should be able to draw parallel* lines through the eyes, base of nose and mouth. If you can't do this, the face won't look right.

*Parallel with respect to perspective of course.

Hey all, been awhile. I've been pretty busy between working my part time job and my new company, but managed to find the time to make these over the past couple of months. Thought I'd post em up and see what you all think.

cool stuff! I like your rendering!
maybe you should play around with drawing different expressions when drawing faces though... you seem to usually draw people staring blankly and half smiling, would be nice to see you draw some more complex expressions!

    keep it up, cheers!

Well, I've taken some time off again from art for quite awhile. I've been drawing here and there but nothing substantial.

I had the itch over the holidays to make a few things and see how they turned out

have not been around and active at Conceptart in quite some time.. i've been lurking here and there but not posting much. these days i've been doing a lot of work in animation and video production.. you can check out some of that stuff if you follow the "Cave House Studios" link in my sig

lucky i have found a weekly figure drawing session in my town and have been making it out to that as often as i can. i feel like i've soaked in a lot of drawing info while i was concentrating on other things, but i still have tons to learn. but doing this stuff is so fundamental to everything else. when i get into to do design and animation work its so much different .. when i got out of college i had almost no art fundamentals. now i feel fairly competent. i can visualize something by drawing and it actually looks like.. something

anyways here is some stuff from figure drawing

you sure can handle your values well! i quite like you pencil drawings. All the high contrast makes them rather interesting
