Heyooo there! Thanks for dropping by and checking out my sketchbook.
Edit: Could somebody tell me how to set a picture for my sketchbook? LOL. I'm gonna cry i'm so dumb
ALSO if you could tell me how to edit the name of this thread, that would be great LOL. I know how to spell 'criticism.' I just. I can't spell at 4 am xD
I've chosen to go into animation, and I aim to get into Sheridan College right here in Canada! Art has become a part of who I am, and I feel like I need to develop a stronger passion for it, a passion that will drive me to do more work, accomplish more things, and stay committed to my craft. In order to cultivate this artist child of mine, I need to really get out there, make some new artist friends, and become more emotionally invested in my work.
Thanks again for dropping by! I've never posted here before, so I don't really know how things work, but I'll do my best to keep up xD
Please do drop me a message so we can talk and become friends and draw things and do each other's hair
On to my first sketchbook entry! I'm a former student of the Animation Portfolio Workshop, and I'm sure that most of you involved in animation have heard of it from someeeewhere. It's really a great course and I highly recommend it - I don't know where I'd be without the guidance I received there. Anyways, these are some life drawings from that workshop! Please tear my work apart for me. Cx I need to get into this stupid animation program.
Let's get started! These are some life drawings that were supposed to make it into my portfolio, but I unfortunately was not able to finish on time this year. That's why I didn't get in this year. And yes, it does tear me up from time to time xD
30 second gesture
another 30 sec
This batch was picked by our life drawing instructor, Jose.
And these were picked by the workshop's head honcho, Gerard Sternik.
Now for some incomplete Sheridan portfolio entries!
Unfinished, early character drafts. I have much better ones available now! I'll post them some other time
I used a viewfinder to get the proportions right, then proceeded to do plane changes. Got a bit wireframe-y with them, though. Oops.
Going to now finish off with some more recent life drawing I did with a friend who's also aspiring to become an animator! I hadn't drawn for monthsss due to Sheridepression when I went out and drew these, so they're a bit bleh
That's it for now! I'll be sure to update because I'm certainly serious about staying committed to this. Posting tonight sure helped me feel better about the whole thing... so I guess I just ought to push onwards :')
Anyways, thanks to everybody reading and looking. It means a lot.

Lovely stuff. Yeah, that workshop really does seem to make its students 'get' 'it' haha. Lots of nice, fluid strokes in your gestures here. I like the 2nd animal one a lot too. Keep posting and keep drawing

Muddy: Thank you for dropping by and leavin' the kind words of encouragement! I do appreciate the reply. Aha, yeah, sounds like you know a bit about the APW! Are you thinking of taking it?
Now for an update on assorted figure drawings and the contents of my character development sketchbook! My sketchbook has a lack of colour and value studies for now because the stuff I do is strictly targeting the criteria that Sheridan's animation program is looking at for portfolio evaluations. Also I'm still really embarrassed about my misspelled thread title -.- helppppp
And here are some pictures of the contents of my character sketchbook~

These are really, really sweet! I love your little squirrel character, and you're figure drawings have really nice flowing lines. Keep 'em coming!
