Really nice work. I especially like the expressiveness you achieved with the dogs. I really don't see much to criticize here, but in the painting of the dogs fighting/playing, the background doesn't seem separated enough. Maybe some atmosphere might push it back a little and separate it from the dogs. Good stuff though, keep it up.
I'm new here and could always use some advice / criticism. Feel free to take a peak at my sketchbook if you have the time.

17? Geez. Fantastic work, you've got a really lovely, energetic style; I love the dogs and the flower. Try posting your images a little smaller, though, they're pretty big and in a couple of cases I can't see the whole thing without scrolling. (Maybe you're on a massive screen?)

@nick - I haven't even noticed that :v great point, I thought the background could have been done better somehow
@revidescent - oh yeah, I should scale them down more before posting. I like to post high res pics because personally I like when people do that
Maybe next time when theres a large file, I should post a small version but with a detailed zoom?

My friend~ Isn't she purdy :B
I feel like the skin tones could have been done better, or with more colours to bring the piece out. Any tips?
Also, bad webcam picture ref is bad.
Also: any one else having trouble getting this site working in google chrome?

Wow, I haven't been on here for a long time. This website just refused to work on Google Chrome for some reason... (and it's still laggy)
On a side note, I've been accepted to SAIC and RISD. Does anyone have a particular opinion about those schools? Strengths in painting or concept art? Or even if it's worth paying that much money to go to a big name school, since US colleges are so expensive.
Anyways, here's a composition for a painting I'm going to do. I'm pretty happy with the colours, but the flow feels kinda off and I can't figure out whats wrong.

I'm happy with the leather, but her face is kinda meh. I think I lost the energy from the sketch.
The whip and background look so unfinished lol

Very inspiring. So much energy in those dogs. They were referenced right? Also love the studies! Yeah I'v noticed this site is super laggy on chrome. Glad it's not just me. Haven't tried with Firefox yet.

@Uyeno Yup, a guy on devart let me use some of his photos for reference. He has a fantastic gallery full of energetic dogs that I still look at to do studies of.
Some character stuff, I may or may not make a comic out of them:

Great stuff in here, the paintings are dame good.. i loved that character in post 19 .. its hard to draw from this angel .

Fun brush strokes! I can sense dynamic motion in your artworks. If you can work more on the shapes and edges, it will look better. For now, they look a little bit too 'brushy' for me
Can be seen carrying sketchbook around nearby bus station.

Ty for the feedback! Yeah. I'm having a hard time getting used to the digital brushes.
Also my wacom companion broke, and I'm heartbroken and feel lots of brand betrayal lol.
Ink drawing of the aussie comedian Tim Minchin. I saw his show in Toronto last week, and I got to give the original to him :>
