What do you think about Blizzard?

They do good work, I used to really like them too. I prefer darker/more realistic work now though in contrast to their more cartoonish, exaggerated anatomical proportions style. It works perfectly for Warcraft, but I don't think it translated well to Diablo 3.
Their oldest works are bad, I mean pencil drawing for Diablo and ugly concepts for first StarCraft. Newer stuff is nice, but it's mostly Warcraft illustrations which I don't like for it's cartoon look. At other hand, Mr--jack's StarCraft illustrations are totally badass and some promo art is insanely good. So yeah, I like them
LepidopteranMenace In D3 I not like only entrances with saturated yellow and blue lights. And character/login screens, it is much more amazing in SC2.
Spellsword95 I like ugly concepts. They are so brutal. There are a lot works in realistic style in Warcraft theme. There are only 1 or 2 man who draw in a real cartoon technique
Cant find anything related to Blizzard on that site.
Tigersent: Check out Laurel Austin's Warcraft illustrations: http://conceptartworld.com/?p=15899 Nobody has an idea of how much I adore that man. His painting style is pretty much the same as I want to achieve. Insane skills!
Lane You such a sexist.
Yeah its all good. But thread not only about paintings. Its about philosophy of Blizzard arts.
Tigersent: I don't know what do you mean by their philosophy. They do concepts and illustrations for their products - promotional art to represent their games, trading cards designs etc. I don't see any deeper meaning in this.
Chris Metzen is probably my favourite. I love the art of Diablo 1, SC 1 and Warcraft 1,2,3.
I know they maybe lacked some anatomy in the begining but hey, look where they are now.
I am also curious about their education background, i cant find anywhere that he or any of the early artists were in art school/colleges. Only that Chris was in the army lulz.
