    Lightbulb CONCEPTART.ORG T-Shirts wru

Thinking about my trip to the UK today (I'm flying today) it hit me. Conceptart.org Shirts. It's brilliant really .

    Some ideas:

    - We could hold a contest or vote for designs for the front of the shirt, here on the forums.
    - Wearing it could get you in contact with local fellow CA'ers whom you didn't know about.
    - People interested in Concept Art in general might visit the site (free publicity).
    - It could fund things like workshops and costs associated with keeping CA hosted etc.
    - + more, think about it.

Thoughts? I'd give my left nut for a CA shirt .

maybe have a contest every 6 months, and the winner gets his/her design or piece of art on the t-shirt for the next 6 months. that would be an excuse to have contests, an awesome prize for the winner, and cool shirts for everyone else...

edit: and the CA crew could make a little extra jing to fund the site and workshops. and free advertisement...

    yeah, I'm down.
I think a tee in the new forum colour would be slick.....print something awesome on the front, and boom, pimpin' it CA style.

    Yeah, I want one too!
Would be neat with a t-shirt with the site's colors...but a black wouldn't be too bad either.

i agree, that would be awesome. i think they had some ideas going earlier. their theme was like "draw from life" or something.. it;d rock hard to have shirts. i would wear it proudly... like i do with my "kill miss conduct" shirt that android made =]

On the subjects of T-shirts, im looking to get one made reading "In my world I look just like God".

If anyone has any suggestions for a picture to go on the back or near the text then please say so! If youve got any pics of god type people that would suit this statement then PM me.

If you make CA T-shirts perhaps setting out a CA lable then allowing people to put their own stuff on the back would be good. Hell, im gonna order an "I love Mullet's" T-shirt. I'd wear anything! :ep:

i second the wish for a black shirt. the logo could use the sites color. or have a horizontal stripe in the forum colors with the logo cut out in black... or something.

we could have both member designed ones, and ones designed by jason etc with the logo etc.
and then over the months and years, we will gather a huge catalogue of CA.org t-shirt designs. awesome ^-^

yeah, there could be a "manley shirt" and a "coro shirt" and a "wes shirt"...different ones all the time, highlighting the big members and the site. Say every six months they could make a run of a couple hundred "JP shirts", and then when they sell them all, have a contest and the winner gets on the next CA shirt, the "Milligan shirt". Then we could have contests on somewhat regular schedules, we could have different designs of CA shirts done by different members, creating an incentive for regular members to keep buying the shirts when new ones come out.

Plus, then I could get Dan to sign my shirt at the next workshop. :ep:

It would be like baseball cards...only without baseball, and without the cards.

It would be cool to have a shirt that just said "Conceptart.org" on it. I'd buy one. But let Marko, Ron, Rich, sparth, or barontieri draw something cool on the back of the shirts, and I'll buy 5...

I am part owner of a t-shirt company here in Fort Lauderdale. http://www.hotfish.com (I paint the fish, work on the website, ect.) We do fishing and hunting tees but I have experience with the different manufacturers and suppliers.

Jason if I can help out in any way with ordering or silkscreeners, whatever, please let me know. I'd be happy to at least save you some research time.

And I'd buy at least one of every damn design CA made!

Seriously, it could be a nice revenue stream to help out with hosting or workshops or whatever. I also have connections with fun stuff like mousepads, mugs, beer coolies, keychains, hats, jackets... pretty much anything you'd want to put your name on.

I can dig it. I wouldn't suggest putting the name on all of that stuff, just presenting options if there was ever any interest in it. I thought it might be cool for workshops or other events to hand out stuff to promote CA.

Just think there is some poor sucker out there right now trying to figure out how to get that color and perspective just right on his painting. He's pulling his hair out because it isn't working. He picks up a pen with conceptart.org on it and with one visit to the tutorials section, BAM!! His life is forever changed from the influence and inspiration of all the talent.

Anyway all that extra stuff is no big deal. Just throwing ideas out there. The tees however are a great idea and I bet with the amount of ppl interested it could really help out the site.

Cool! I hope Jason & Co. take Beatnik up on this and get some nice stuff made available. If it's going to mean some revenue to help support the site and the people who run it, I'll be laying down some cash tut de suite.

A tshirt place OTHER than Cafepress would be great. Cafepress just seems really limited as to what you can make and sale.

i dont think someone has to mention that these shirts are going to be sent out over all the world (and therefore, the whole shipping thing should be spent one or two thoughts on), right?

Dude don't even consider Cafe Press for this. They have cool stuff yes, but they are insanely expensive. They make their money no matter what, you have to add on whatever the amount is you want to make. For example, they will set up a base of say 15 bucks, then if you want to make even one single dollar from the sale, you charge 16 bucks for the shirt. The best way is to eliminate the middleman obviously. The best and most profitable way is simply to buy direct. The problem would be sitting on inventory and having funds tied up. I think that if the inventory was kept to a minimum there really wouldn't be a problem. Another option would be to simpy take pre-orders. Collect the money up front and then use it to create everything, then ship it. Might take a few weeks but it would eliminate having to come out of pocket up front.

As far as shipping all over the world, that wouldn't be an issue. The person ordering pays for shipping, simple as that. Just have to figure out what it would cost to send to where and every shipping company has that info.

It would take some work but it really wouldn't be that difficult to set up. Like I said I'll help however I can if needed.

Vision without action is a daydream, Action without vision is a nightmare.
