The future of the past or I'm still drawing with a pencil

    Hey everyone!

I've been thinking on posting here for a long time, kind of waited to become great. Well, no, still not great, and yeah, you've probably heard this story before quite a few times . So now I just want to become a part of this great community, hope I'll fit in!

    Goblin project

Here is a process of drawing a goblin with initial sketch included.
    And a few figure drawings.

Wow this seemed to pass by unnoticed, that's a shame because it's really good.
Awesome sketching skills. Was this last one done with reference? It's kind of what I struggle with, building up the body and then dressing it up.

    Thanks, Filipe!

Well, I started without reference but struggled with doing the exact pose I wanted (forshortening was hard), so I had to pose a lot in front of the mirror and finally even took a couple of photos (I should probably delete them now – that part was kind of embarrassing . As for the armor – I googled it, studied images and used ideas from there. I really wanted to make the armor functional and cool but then found that functional armor would cover all the body parts I’d already spent a lot of time drawing so I let it go =)

Some new stuff. Photo ref used for all the drawings here. What I was trying to accomplish here is to show volume by reducing the contrast and the detail level of the things that are farther in space. There is still room for improvement evidently

Hey everyone! here is a sketch, again =) I like the middle one though, shouldn't have done it on a scrap paper probably.

By the way, I'm looking for drawing buddies. I know, I know - everyone does and this thread is not the best place to start, but - what the hell! Today I'm looking here

I mean, do you really interested in getting "wow, you're cool!" or "wow, you're suck!" kind of stuff? That's boring. And generic. Looking at other people's pages I sometimes find my self writing things like that. Peer pressure I guess . So I think - okay, that's what everybody else is saying. Then I delete everything and leave this site for a month.

Let's do something together, have a meaningful conversation at least? I'm stuck a little in figure drawing, but ready to move on, so if you're interested - get in touch!

This is a drawing from imagination, it is an alien ‘bee’ caught by alien people/plants symbiosis =)

Hey epsylonix, just thought I'd say that your figure sketches are awesome, beautifully rendered I don't really have anything useful to say since I'm not that good, just offering some of that good ol encouragement I look forward to seeing more
