    Character of the Week #325
    The Soul Collector

    Deadline - Sunday, April 28 10PM GMT

Upon your death and before your final breath, and after a life time of memories flash before you in a instant, the last image you see is not of a memory but of a being
called the Soul Collector. Depending on how you lived your life determines the Soul Collectors appearance, it can be one of great beauty or one of terrible darkness.
The Soul Collector is said to carry a vessel/receptacle which it uses to transport your soul to the great heavens above or to the fiery hell below.

Only those that have cheated death have come back to the living with tales of this being called the Soul Collector,
and depending on what they saw they where able to change the fate of their life and death forever.

This week we would like you to design The Soul Collector.

    The Guidelines:
    • Must be humanoid, and recognizable as a character, so no balls of light or beams of energy
    • Gender is open
    • Genre, time period, location is all open
    • Include the vessel/receptacle

Focus Challenge: Composition & Gesture (Optional & not required for entry into the poll)
    • Use background, middle ground and foreground elements to frame your character
    • Do something dramatic with your characters hands pose to help enhance their attitude

    The Rules
    • Finals must be posted in the finals thread before the deadline
    • Final post must include the CHoW number and the artists username at the bottom of the image
    • At least 3/4 of the character must be visible
    • Sketches or rushed artwork will not be accepted into the poll
    • No photograph paint overs, must be 100% original work
    • At least two wips posted with your final in the finals thread
    • Background is optional
    • Have fun!

OOOOOOOO I have a good idea for this chow, I envision an old man and he's a bit of a hoarder, but in fact all the trinkets are souls *squee* already getting it amped up in my brain.

hum... what kind of vessel? vessel as in receptacle or as in ship ? i guess a ship since it's used for transportation.. but it could also mean something used to carry the soul? just to be sure before starting :0

He'll have to be big/super strong to carry a ship lol, unless it's one of those cute model replicas.

I must find time to do this!

Yes joey, we noticed that after the fact. But it was also done 6 years ago, and this brief is a little different. Just be sure to read the description carefully.

It's a vessel meaning container or recepticle, not a ship.

Also, I realized after I posted the topic that a similar one had been done already, but as Havok said the description is slightly different and it was several years ago.

We will try and be more careful next time.

Joey-b I was thinking more of an accessory that they carry.

    Hope that helps.

Thought I'd try a different take on the idea behind the vessel and have it as some kind of creature that sinks itself into the back of a golem which it controls and then uses to collect the soul, before detaching itself and takes it on it's final journey.

Let me know if this is still within the guidelines or I'll switch up the concept again somehow.
Looking forward to everyones work over the next few days!!!

PsychoKhronos, I was thinking of it being more of a container or a receptacle that it was carrying rather than another living thing.

    Hope that helps.
