Finished the two comissions, also doodled this and that for fun. Hope I'll have some time for realistic paintings soon, I kinda miss it.

Some simple character drawings, and two recolors. I had to do some illustrations for an Andersten tale (The Tinderbox) and since I hate that guy, thought it would be fun to approach the subject from a post-apocalyptic/steampunk way.

I really like your line drawings

I don't know why for some reason the line drawings draw my attention more than the colour. Hmmm! Maybe you should have some fun with colour theory. I can't imagine how to paint digitally myself, so I am not of much help. Thanks for commenting on my SB! X

Thank you! I avoided coloring for a really long time, so it's possible that my linework is more.. uhh... evolved than my coloring. I am working on better understanding colors and shading, but it's really difficult.

Wow really good improvement Helila! Your proportions and understanding of the face have improved quite a bit since the first page. I do feel like your linework is stronger than your colour as mentioned earlier on this page, so maybe mess around and take some time to experiment with ways to make that linework shine, it's deserving of it. Keep it up, I'm looking forward to seeing how good you get

Thank you very much sudafreekan! Ooh, I just have no idea how to make the linework and the coloring work together, it's so damn frustrating!

I haven't made any pencil drawings in AGES. Shame on me.

I had this character in EarthDawn, who started out as a shy, and very unlucky elf archer, and in the end she left for the afterlife as a legendary hero and dragon. Yes, a dragon. It’s a long story.

hello I’m helila, and the concept of “quick painting” is unknown to me.
(which is actually pretty frustrating, because instead of finishing the whole thing in one hour, I've spent just two on her face)

your lines are not bad at all =D I want to see more interesting digital painting though--actually not too fond of the painterly stuff --maybe a little more refined painting, but then again I don't really know how to digitally paint myself.

I honestly can't decide about my linework anymore, because I've heard both that it's good and it's not. Guess it's kinda good, but not really? Is that even possible?
My problem with digital paintings is that I work reeeeally, really slowly. I really like to make them, but by the time it's finished, I'm out of energy and patience to start a new one. So in the last few weeks I only bothered with simple or flat coloring.
Right now I feel like going back to traditional methods for a while, to improve my line drawing skills and avoid forgetting how to draw with pencil.
    Anyways, thanks for commenting!
