    game of thrones concept

Hey guys, I'm working on a game of thrones concept painting for lulz. I'm liking my tonal relationships but would love to hear from some pros on how I can enhance the grandeur and scale of the Titan of Bravvos.game of thrones concept

Unfortunately I'm not a "pro", but if I could offer some input I'd say either add another dinghy closer to him, or move the one you already have closer to him.
Personally I'd go for the latter since it'd also tell us how far away we are from him, also helping us with the sense of scale(if a far away object still looks big, then it must be HUGE up close).

Another thing you might play with is adding a little [more] atmospheric perspective; you're already doing this to some extent, but I think if you push it a little more you'll really get the scale you're going for.

Perhaps if you angle the ship towards the horizon (right now it's definitely looking up towards the giant), make it smaller and make the giant's eyes smaller as well? I agree it's looking pretty cool though. It also amuses me that I just read about that passage last week; I started reading a Song of Ice and Fire not too long ago and I'm already at A Dance with Dragons haha.

Value wise I think the head of the giant could be more vague, perhaps even shrouded in clouds a little bit to emphasize his enormity?

I think the Titan of Bravos is looking gigantic enough, but the boat seems to be doing a wheelie haha. You should lower the horizon on the boat to match the perspective of the boat. Also you seem to be planning some hair on the giant. I wouldn't do that, large statues have large chunky details and too many parts separating seems unrealistic to me.

great comments boys! My perspective was an abortion in my sketch. I went back in and drafted out the boat and added some atmospheric perspective for the titan. I think this is working a lot better, no?game of thrones concept

Yes, much better. I'm not sure you'd be able to make out that rim lighting around his arms though since the sun isn't behind them from our view(I could be wrong though), and you definitely wouldn't see his eyes unless they are really strong light sources(in which case I think they should be brighter).

Incidentally, this is starting to remind me of the Iron Giant:

This is looking so good! All the crits and your hard work are paying off! The only thing I could add is that the yellow is too much, imo. I would desaturate those down a bit, especially since they are in the distance.
