I am working on my lighting a sphere and trying to figure out how the lighting would work so I made a sphere one own layer and added another layer and put it underneath the sphere.
When I start doing to shadow underneath the sphere it cover's up the reflected light also very visible white line which I don't want there. Looks terrible & how do I go about adding the shadow
without it affecting the sphere.

I would appreciate your input with this since I will also be doing cylinders, squares, and cones as well. So I need to get this fixed before proceeding with other shapes and different lighting directions.

Please give me some feedback on how to fix this.
