Thread: Gio's sketchbook
March 15th, 2013 #1
as you might guess from my username and thread title i'm Giorgio, 30 years old from Italy.
i always loved drawing, and i've been able to transform the dreams i had when i was a kid in my job.
i work as a freelance illustrator since 2006, mostly for books, being them school readers, picture books, narrative..
lately i decided to expand my range of audience/techniques/genres, and aim towards something more "mature" and evolved, and discovered the world of concept art.
after watching tons of videos on youtube i decided it was time to push myself over what i was used to do and i must confess i really love it.
what really brought me here (i've been a reader of the forums for quite some time) is sinix, i've been watching his videos lately and heard about his story, how he get inside this world and how much of a help conceptart.org has been for him, so here i am too, ready and willing to improve myself day after day.
stop the talking now, let's show something.
those are mostly wips, i'll post the final works in the appropriate thread.
thank for stopping by!
p.s. hope images are not too big..

Hey, nice start. That underwater/ cave scene looks interesting. Is that illustration for a book or something?

No that was just made for myself.
It was an idea i had after watching the movie sanctum, then i added the hand that is the "mano del desierto", a giant sculpture in the middle of the atacama desert in chile.
