    young paddy1-thanks a bunch
mentler-super duper thanks 2 u and ur very welcome as well.

    heres some doodles
    gestures at bookstore

quick gestures while at the jazz festival

feet studies while waiting in the airport

sketch i did of some slot addicts while waiting for my chili dog order in vegas

i did some quick gestures of some bad ass jazz cats playing at jazz at the rep near my area...worked on it a bit last week... really enjoyable performance. I just love the spontaneous musical creation of live jazz and the group interaction that goes along with it especially with the improvisational solos.…very refreshing and inspiring….the guy playing the xylophone thingy had a sweet solo.and the dude playing the timbales ( i think) had a nice one. fuck.. all of them were swweet.

i did a gesture of the violinist and the bass player on another page, but i have not finished working on them yet so I will post that one a lil later. the bass player had some crazy facial expressions when he was rockin his solo...he was making mouth movements that were in sync to the bass notes that he played. crazy fucker.

WHOA! That's alot of updating! The quick gestures look great - they remind slightly of bumskee's - a little, but that's a good thing. Anatomy studies are really cool...done from ref? Mine are so boring...but yours are really fun to look at. I especially like your ladies...they are hot! And the backs look really good and well-thought out..specifically the rendering.

    - My favorite digi paint is the blue face guy too, with the crazy eyes - very haunting, and has some nice graphic qualities to it as well.

my favorite piece is definetly the jazz sketch. It seems you were just going off into your own world there, and put alot of love into that drawing. It might be in your sketchbook, but it looks like a finsihed piece to me.

awesome man.wow...i didn't crit, but I don't feel like it so there!

YO dude I REALLY like the mood and style here!! cool imagination
good posing for your caracters, and nice composition for the pages.

Ok time for doing sum criticing

I think that I would be good for you to do some
more hands studies, some of them look good but as times
they look a bit boneless, that is something that happens
on some of your full body figures as well, some of them lack
    a solid boning structure:

    mixedmedia_web.jpg

dont get me wrong tho I really dig the style in wich you portrait
them its just that I belive that your work would be even stronger
if you payed a little more atenccion to this things.

Your ligth and dark division is not working well on some
of the drawings as well, your light areas as in some cases are
to contrasted and spotty and that IMO kills the sence of roundness
of the forms, try to do some excerisces of simplyfing the human
form in basic big shapes, that migth help you clean up your
rendering, check out this tutorial It helped me a lot,
you might find it usefull as well:

    http://www.androidblues.com/Jealousy...lousystep.html

I some cases you make this kinda of shading work really well

    anatomy_studies2.jpg

but on some cases it becomes to chaoic:

    jazz_atthe_rep.jpg

well this is all I got for now, aside this take all this ramblings with a ton of salt
most if this is just me repeating the things I tell to my self and the advise
people has give me, keep it up!! and do keep on posting the goods

maxetormer---whoa thats bad ass man. thanks for the insight..kudos to you for stepping up and giving me a much needed slap on the face.

you are totally right about my hands, im so terrible at them, sometimes they look like jello fingers, very flaccid with no bone structure whatsoever same goes for some of my characters.

heya thanks for the link too also, i seen that guys work before and also that tut---but it got lost in all my bookmarks so thanks for redirecting it in my sb for easy access!!
im printing out that sucker for future reference.

i get what you are saying about the jazz piece i did, it is quite spotty, and you are right it is damn chaotic. thats my stream of consciousness and spontaneous imagination kicking in. just like how free jazz is. haha. this was more of imaginative and a let loose, do what you feel type sketch. most of my sketches look like this too. haha

thanks again for taking the time to write in, very much appreciated. i will take it with a ton of salt and a teaspoon of sugar for sure!

loomer------ sup man! you are the coolest ever! thanks for dropping by. always appreciated. yea the gestures ive been doing them smaller, i can bang em out a lot quicker that way.

anatomy studies were done with some refs but they look nothing like the refs now!

glad u like the possesed dude----i totally changed up his eyes and the color scheme from the original version..i think it looks a lot better than it did before.

yea man, i did fly away into my own world when i worked on that jazz piece. glad u like. maybe i will color sometime?

vigostar-----thanks a bunch..im thinking of doing the tdome round 2 so i can get some good stuff in my pfolio. but i will posting up some wips so i can really get it right this time.

bumskee ------hey sup mate? thanks for dropping by again...heh heh dont worry about stalking.. i stalk too!! cool update in your book! nice lighting on the faces!

i have a digi experimental sketch coming up.

HOW THE FUCK DID I MISS THIS THREAD?

I think the majority of your work rocks, but I see some of your pure digitals need a little work to just get that extra edge.

Keep up the awesome work clogik, I love your sketchy style.

FANTASTICO! Great update clogik -you are a real clogik case

The lighting on the first two is awesome..really bold. I like that melting feeling...all drippy and shit. They have great mood...eerie!

I like that little guy smoking what looks like a blunt. He's cool..I think you should develop him more, cause I like him and I want him to be my friend. I'm so lonely.

OK - next has got to be one of my favorite pieces/sketches you have ever done. Only 3 hours? it looks like alot of work went into that...beautiful job. It really captures the loose composition quality I like so much about your traditional sketchbook, and takes it further. You always see something new when you look at it.

cool soldier - nicely done..and I'm in love with his crazy helmet. I want it.

like the girls too..the one at the bottom kinda looks a bit like Yumiko from these boards.

great job all around bro... I think you made a nice leap forward with this new batch. soon you will be filled with AWESOME POWER ******!

Damn dude...that late night sketch is just awsome...Im lovin' the abstract shape stuff. It adds so much to your work. Beautiful...very impressive stuff. I have one crit about color...the colors bluegreen and pink are used in almost every piece. It works very well, but I wouldn't rely on it. Despite that I see great developement of your work. Leaps and bounds, man. Keep up the great work.

    hidey-ho neighbor.

    wow,,, wow!!!

The figure graphites look great, sweet mix of line and shading,,,,, also love the graphites with wash that you seem to of done from a (reff??) very nice looking,,, you have a ton of tonal control and good vision for a take to finish approach, bravo.... but jeez,,, I really dropped a line to tell you how much I love those digi brainfart pages!!!! Those are tight!! (figure of speach) they are so loose and descriptive,,,,,,the one with the hot red on the left of the page is really my fav,,,( except for the soldier, whoops!) love the greyish rosy beige and whitish green combo,,,,,,great colors,,,the rosy midtone is really well done, though, it puts a lot of realism onto the forms....out the ass digiquicksters are lookind commanding,,,,,,,just a lot of great shit!!! whew,,,, 27 asspats from me,,, keep on it and whip the mule once in a while, let im' know............

    bye

WIsh you update more often.. damn love seeing your stuff but you so rarely do. hehe, you build forms so nicely, reads so damn well.. Love the digi stuff, a little twisted, hehe again love the colours, don't know how you pull off the deep reds and hyper pinks. you gotta teach me one day.. tell me the secrets to using hot pinks and baby blue.. I am looking forward to the floating castle thingy WIP, looks promosing.

    Hope to seeeeee morrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeee

BTW are u still on painter? or are these done on PS? just curious I think you told me you are on painter..

Man! a lil bit of everything on this post. Life studies, characters, enviros...it dont' stop !

That wip with the floating castle looks promising man. I know it's early , but i think that piece could be a winner.
Fat baron dude is cool...fat dudes are always cool. Did you ever check out Craig Mullins' baron dudes? You would like...Now I wanna draw a fatass baron

-agree with bumskee on the pinks...that's a hard color to pull off, but you do it with ease ...jealous I am! And the barfing guy is another example of that/
I like the guy beneath him too...kinda cool to see you work in a completel different color harmony.
lukavi's remix is sweet too..and I agree. He's one of my favorites on this board...so much unique, individuality there.
badass man...we should all do a sketch trade or some shit soon

loomer-whats up duders? thnx for dropping by...yea, i totally want to work on the castly layout, but we will so how it turns out, its mighty early right now...i have to chip away at it. slowly but surely

haha...yea i seen craigs fat ass barons... they are sick as hell.

hehe, i got to chill with the pinks for real, i use em way to much i think---that color scheme is like engraved in my color senses. must use others colors now!!!

yea, sketch trade would be sweet, i have a ton of projects too! >_<

bumskee-sup mate? yea im gonna try to update more often,,, i swear im terrible at it. i hope i didnt disturb you with my slightly twisted vision. hehe.
man, i swear i think i use the pinks way to much, from now on im going to avoid it for a bit....i just love the energy of that color though.
hehe...i really dont now how i use those colors..its weird...its mostly me eyeing it out, and playing with saturation levels in pshop to get what i think feels right. bye bye pinks for now...
for these digis i posted, they are done in pshop for the most part...cheers

vigostar: hey man, good to hear from...haha yea i saw him update and was like ok! its my turn to update now! man its been like a month..but im gonna try to psot more ofen.

i was working on this in the library before class, and i see some broad at the corner of my eye looking at my work...she said to me "did you draw this? i say "yes", she says "wow i like it!"... i say "thnx"..... and thats it.......to bad she wasnt my type.. oh well..... okay that was pointless but heres the sketch anyways.

howler monkey for a project....still in wip mode.

That monkey's really great! It'd really pop more if you'd add s'more highlights and dark darks tho. You could really get that baby to sing! Your color stuff is great and the figure studies are really tight as well. Lovin' the updates. Keep it up!

if It weren't for loomer I would have missed the last update..damn.. PINK!! is good dude, pink and purples, definitely keep experimenting, you don't know how lucky you are that you can pull off those colours like you own them. Bengal does nice cool shadows in pinks and stuff I think, though your style isn't like his colour wise I love yours. meh I think you just know your colours I guess. Come to think of it, last update, the greens are working well too!!...hahah.. crapz.. dude keep doing whatever you are doing, inspiring stuff!

not a big fan of monkeys but looking good, BTW group assignment today!.. can't wait to see urs and everyone elses.. hehe

    pen drawins--

any of you guys seen high tension (haute tension)? a french horror film, a sort of homage to the old school 70s slasher genre (ie texas chainsaw massacre). i recently watched it, it wasnt too bad...if u like horror you will prolly dig it....if you hate gore, i advise to not watch it all.

    see ya!

Hey Clogik! How's everything? Damn, your stuff's insane, can't believe I missed so much. This:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...dier_wippy.jpg is fuckin' Amazing. It doesn't even look like your style. The gritty strokes and the ashy color scheme just works together. Heh, makes me feel like playing Fall-out or something. Anything manly...mm yea.

Seen that awesome remix. I wish I could claim complete ownership of the design but thats also an st with Hunger Artist. You actually made her LOOK hot. Hehe, nice. Speaking of st's... you owe me one, kenobi!

Hello, clogik. I went through your book two times and I think you are great artist in every medium and tool you take.

I wish you would post in the sketch trade. It's lot to learn from you and you would add your personality and your inner world, which are very interesting to observe.

Your use of colors is beautiful, striking. Wondering how you sharpened your sensors, the whole process of you growing as an artist, because you noticed a lot. I like how you compose your drawings. You don't like white space, do you ? Your lines are great.

    My favorites are:

Ahh crap just when I was about to update my browser freezes so now I have to redo everything. Anyways just got back from some bar and had me some weird apple tastin beer and I thought to myself meh I should update this bugger.
So here I am up listening to some stereolab and updating ….

Wow its been ages since my last update thanks for all the replies! Im humbled, really..
i dunno how to update often. Huhuh. also Pretty intimidating to post specially after all the big guns have updated their books..yowzas..but here goes..

Timpaatkins- hi! Thanks a lot man glad u like them sketches.. Uum right now im a student at the momen…my goal is to get into video games doing concept design characters/illustrations/environs etc… but I got a while to go. I need more mileage!! Thanks again!

van- hey whats up man? Thanks a lot I appreciate it. You have some very nice paintings in your thread cant believe I missed out. thanks for dropping by.

fellah-wads up? Thank you. your digi stuff is kickin butt lots.

Tensai- hey man thanks for finding my thread and dropping by, I appreciate it heaps. Love your tokyo city scapes. Kampai!

Sve- heya! Thanks a lot for stopping by, you are really nice. Thanks for the kind words. hmm glad u like the colors..and I don’t like empty white space to much when im sketching in my book… I tend to get lost in my world and sketch without any boundaries.
I like to find new patterns in my sketchbook so I throw down a lot of loose strokes and random marks and play with repetition as well.. Usually I try to find or make an interesting shape to make the page more dynamic. It may look crazy but that’s just my way of thinking sometimes.

For the aforementioned pictures, by all means please take em, my pleasure!
    Thnks again
Lukavi!!!! Hey man good to hear from you, everything is alright,. Haha glad you like the soldier dude. I was playing around with interesting shapes and silhouettes in pshop…just thinking of overall shape and blocking in tones. From there I started carving and sculpting out a character with an interesting desing. I ended up with solder fool. Haha.

Oh geez I forgot that it was hunger artist sketch too, props for both of you guys for such a badass concept. Cheers!

Oh yea I owe you a sketch I keep forgetting …ill unexpectedly pm you one random day… Thanks again for droppin by.

    Flaskpost: thanks bunches
Bojee: good to hear from you. thanks man!
Davi: hey man thanks a lot!! Im actually below average looking in person. Hehe
    Gibsini: thanks bunches!
Tbui: sup dude? Hows everything? Thanks for checking out my stuff.

vigostar: sup? hah hah it takes me forever to get to 4th page becuase i dont update frequently, i update in large batchs which explains why im still stuck on this 4th page!!!!arghhhh!!!!!

bumskee: sup mate! too too kind. haha yea i love bengals color schemes, he has amazing ability to pull of those purples and pastel colors,,, really work well with his compositions and lighting.
Awesome stuff in your book lately, looking at them makes me warm during the cold days over here. Heh.

loomer: heya! Hows everything going? I saw your latest chow entrie looking good!! You have been kickin arse lately you talented guy you!!.…

CLOGIK! Man ...at the risk of sounding homosexual, I missed you and your art! What the hell have you been up to? I was gonna bother you on myspace.com, but I figured...ya know..the dude may just be busy. But I'm super pumped you are back with a sweet post as well. Last dude is my favorite..shows some growth and changes, but yet still retains that clogik charm.
Just keep posting man...can keep us waiting like that

    hot damn clogik!
amazingly impressive collection of work, i love how clean and quick you bust these studies out. the figurative one with the marker up there ^(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...drawin_sep.jpg) is really cool... i'm trying to work some markers into my figurative stuff but it don't work so well .... seems like all of your pieces (digital and trad. media) have this nice sense of texture and confident marks made. keep up the great work!

Hello, clogik ! You need to soak up every morning and or even just sit in this apple tasting beer. Buy yourself an tub, fill it up, dive in, and you can probably draw too. Actually that's the whole idea. Teach yourself to choose the brushes with your toes.
You have heaps more! Wonderful! In colors too? I hope you show them all.
My favorites are the blue painting face, the second, the third, the nude figure on the forth and the girl sitting ( her legs are very nicely drawn) on the sixth.
The guy with painted face . The color is striking, very active, demands some dynamic pose too, action. The face of the guy looks very wild. I personally see this guy near some big fire, performing some ceremonial act.

The second page I was looking very thoroughly, trying to guess what it is. It's started from the duck, and then something happened and this strange construction emerged. On the base of the duck, I think. I think the duck is not OK. Kind of worry about him. The running figures confirm my worse suspicions. Clogic, will it die?
The third page, I know it was a sketching the girl in different position, but it looks like a scene from the future, after nuclear war and reappearing human race in new mutated form. This everyday casual expression on the girl's face makes it even more disturbing. I like this unusual character in the very common situation.

The girl sitting and looking at disbelief at those obnoxious, without any manners hands. Emotion is here, and it's funny, for me. I like how you drew legs.

And I like standing nude figure. Cast shadow is a bit sharp though Sitting girl is very nice too.

Hope to see the rest of the mentioned heap
    Sveta
