I love where it's going. Looks like some sort of a dam. What color scheme do you plan for this?

thanks. I would go desaturated either aqua blueish or beige if i choose to give it color. i find that starting with color initially is easier though than adding color after the fact. maybe theres a better way to do it.

also i really like the dam idea..... which immediately fills it with beautiful water color. thanks for the idea.

I refined a few more sectors of this piece. drew in some over saturated water to see how it looks. the scale of the water might be off.

theres vagueness in the bottom left that needs articulation. i dont like all the highlights/whiteness in the top right. i like the old darker version better. just doesnt make sense for all that light

wow loving how youre carving a sense of depth out of the chaos. great technique! watching with interest!
if you need to put stuff in realistically, use photo ref and textures and paint over them. for example the over flows.

Looks better. As Velocity Kendall mentioned, I admire how you carve out order out of the chaos. When you're done with laying down basic color, I'd suggest you try playing around with LED details (maybe orange/red? You can never go wrong with complementaries). And maybe if you don't like the highlights, try some partial gradient overlay to tone down the values wherever it is desired and then punch out some highlights.
