Hello everyone. This is going to be the submission thread for yet another design activity.
This one is environment related, and the topic is "Urban Waterfall". You can make it as literal or abstract as you want.
Here is the primer video: http://youtu.be/XLtDhfjRX7U
You're free to use any media or methods, the key is only that you're submitting unique design ideas at a basic thumbnail level of polish.
Deadline is March 15.
Not great but I wanted to do something while I had any ideas at all.
had to rush it because im in my finals

Blergh, dunno if they're really good designs :I . i have been meditating under waterfalls for this very moment :3
hello again everyone -- that was great fun! looking forward to all the great new designs, gl and hf! ps.: i dont know if the pure inked looks cooler or the one including some values, so ill post both of variations.

something quick and very loose, I suck at drawing environments and the waterfall looks like spaghetti oh well...

i like the perspective! to avoid the spaghettis you could straighten the lines until they reach the ground (where the splash thing happens). but maybe its a waterfall of astral energy or something^^. i also see something like a face of a ghost or an elemental in the water..
first time contributing . this was quick and is kinda messy but oh well
Would you look at that, a not so dystopic sci fi setting! In this utopian sci fi metropolis everything is powered by water.
Water wheels fuel the slums that are located at the outside wall of the giant structure. (Thought of florences ponte veccio with the houses hanging on the outer sides of the bridge, but way bigger )
edit: 3.8.2013: tried the same concept again, i think i like the first one better but i thought it wouldnt hurt to upload anyway. Hopefully
edit:3.9: softened contrast of the cars on the right because they were distracting from the falls and added sig on second picture, now i have this ugly attached images box below my post with the original ones and i cant make it go away grr

thx for the tip it makes sense i've played a little bit more with the image. where is that face i wanna see it
haha, its on the top -- cant you see the eyes in that oval shape? its starring^^
First time I have entered for the design labs!
think everything's welcome
I hope they're still passable as thumbnails. The bottom left one is inspired by Crysis. The top right one needs some noodly sewage-stuff added to it.
Any and all critiques are highly appreciated

Inspired by many films and games.. I also like that turbine idea from undercurrent. got to find a way to lay down the colors a bit better
I love the 3 one down on the left side.

i have no idea what the second image is
great designs man. on my first entrance for the design labs, i rendered about as much as you have- but i found that sinix kinda wants the most rough design possible- awesome layout though.
Gigantic (really really gigantic) waterfalls in a sweltering desert city. I like to think that the mist generated at the bottom keeps the citizens constantly refreshed and sane in the heat of the sun.
It's quite blurry. Meh. Well there's probably lots of condensation on the camera lens. Yes, that's my excuse....
Hi! this is my first entry to desing lab, so i hope you like it.
Hi there Sinix. This is my first time participating to your Design Lab series. I had funny doing this. BTW, your videos rock!
Well, this is my first go at the design lab, I just wanted to give it a try, so far I really like many of the designs uploaded so far, very nice works!
Not much... but it's worth a try...
