My name is Martin, and I'm a CG character Animator living in Sweden. I've been in the industry for about two years and worked with commercials and a feature film. A couple of months back, I decided it was time for me to learn how to draw. Since animation is a lot about your poses I figured that a good understanding of the human figure would help me reach better poses faster. Also... it's a life long dream of mine to be able to draw like the disney guys So here I am! I started an instagram to log my process, but I figured more people would see my stuff and comment on it here, so i'll do both!
I don't know what I can offer in return for you guys help, maybve if anyone has questions about animation? I'd be more than happy to answer those
Oh! And if anyone is interested, my website (where you can see some animations I've made) is at martinjoas.com and my Instagram is here: CLICK!

Drawings from when I started this journey in early Febuary. Sorry for the bad quality (this will get better I promise)
Here I started to sketch blobs and shapes and then go from that.
More shape practice but I wanted to start thinking with colors and light. I think that can really help with the appeal of the drawing.
Love your faces! Wish i could draw faces like that lol. How do you normally go about constructing those cartoony/stylized faces?
Usually, I start by drawing a random shape, then I add a smaller shape on top of that, and then an even smaller. This usually makes an idea POP in to my head, and I'll start to flesh out the drawing
New drawing inspired by Pascal Campion
LONG time ago since I posted, but here is an update with one of my latest drawings I've started using markers more and more and I really like the messy feel you can get with them.
