Man, your take on Rapheal kicks ass. It could almost be a retired Frank Miller Turtle... Which would also kick ass.

Does anyone here remember the very first ninja turtle comics where all of them wore red masks? The art was spectacular in those and I can't seem to find samples of it anywhere.

cool that you like the picture...
it can be hard to get props from overseas...cause the quality of artists of any kind is just too high, for sure higher than in germany...

I definetly remember the comic, I read it once and I am damn sure that its stored in one of my comic-boxes. Hmm, long time I read it...but if I remember rightly it was pretty gory too. I can remember a loot of footsoldiers and a loot of blood...

well then, my goal becomes clear... the broccoli must DIE!

As soon as you posted, I googled into this. http://www.internationalhero.co.uk/tmnt.htm It's not much, but for those nastalgic few of us it'll bring back all those warm and fuzzy memories.

JabMasta: nice work, just wanted to point out that your hellboy is exceptional, from composition, to inks, to color...very nice.
Yonson: nice venom, it has a very Simon Bisley feel to it.
_badr_:sorry it took so long to get back to you..but thanks for your kind words. Nice Wolvie.

Blind; You reminded how much I miss the Maxx. Awesome work.

Damn, it's been so long since i even looked at a superhero comic book. I used to be really into them back in the day. This thread is like watching VH1's "Where are they now" for me.

    Mad Joker

Nice work on this thread people!
But before everyone goes running around like I just kicked them in the nards let me warn that I did this piece purposely as an homage to Joe Mad in his style, though didn't come anywhere near his talent level.
Nonetheless hope you all still enjoy..Cheers!

Thanks Exo! Yeah, I loved The Maxx too. Sam Kieth's style inspired me to get into drawing, so I'd sit there copying him like a mental patient Sorry about the crappy image quality. It's a scan of a 10 year old drawing that got pretty messed up over the years, yellowed, stained, wrinkled, etc. I did a few more at the time. I'll see if I can dig them up.

Yeah, I know. Read my post to Exo where I pointed that out myself. Like I said, 10 years ago, I'd sit there and make copies of Maxx comics just because I really liked Sam Kieth's style. Not so much to learn but just to do it. But these are certainly not traced in any way. The originals were done at like 9×12" I think... much larger than the comic book. But thanks for policing the forums for us. I only wanted to contribute to a comic related thread with the only comic related sketches I had ever done.
