Mooore Stuff, Now I just need to scan my school sketchbook and whatever I post will be new stuff from now on.. Concepts and some studies, Tibetan Woman is a study, rest is concepts if not I will have written a text saying it's a study..
Wip of a study i'm doing on a sculpture in B&W, trying to learn about light, values, etc, I started with lines and when I'm done I'll post the steps I did..
I'll try to do one of these B&W sculpture studies a week. (tips on more weekly studies are welcome)
I'm trying to actually analyze the the lighting, shadows, and not just copy what I see but it's hard, but hopefully i'll learn something, at the very least I feel I'm improving little by little painting on the wacom (I mostly do lines...)
I should probably have gotten a few earlier WIP images of the value steps, then maybe I could get some tips if I'm doing everything in the "right" order :p, I tried to start big and go small, but it's easy to get caught up in details, but I think I did an okay job, anyways, back to painting!
You seem to be quite character focused and you're coming out with some nice concepts due to your focus in this particular area. It would be nice to see you study one type of culture at a time, making notes on their way of making their armour/ clothing, the materials they used etc. You could study chinese armour and then make a chinese warrior at the end of it to show what you've learnt. If you learn in this structured way you will have a clear understanding of costumes and how to dress a character and you will know what you know and what you dont know which will help you improve quickly. Try going out of your comfort zone too, draw some buildings or anything you wouldn't usually. Keep up the work
Anatomish study, mostly trying to learn how to color skin... was going to put a cyborg head or a gas mask on her or something but I couldn't bother , maybe later... now i'll start on something else or go back to something else.
