    My improvement sketchbook

This is going to wind up being my practice folder. Today I decided to work with expressions and to that end my first attempt at caricature. Feedback is definitely appreciated.

    Those new pages look great.
Keep doing them. They'll help you improve a lot better than these statistic color stuff.
It's good to take care of that, but I wouldn't do special exercises for it.
Better try to do photostudies and just get the colors as good as you can.
This way you learn not only about colors, but also about the subject itself your painting from.

    Anyways, keep it up!

Thank you very much! And yeah learning that way with color is a bit mechanical and such but I believe I need to get down the basics before I get to take risks with it. (It's the advice I was given. ) Thank you very much for your input and here's the next one~

I love the variety of expressions! Lol at the dragon that's licking its eye.

Someone gave a good reason why you should do photo studies but I'd like to add that I think it's actually kind of easier to get the colors right when you do whole photo studies as opposed to just selecting individual colors because after a while, you get more colors for comparison. Of course, it's still important to try to get as close to the photo as possible but looking at the other painted colors can help.

Thanks a lot! I actually have someone helping me with colors right now. Told me to do swatch excercises. He said they'd be about as exciting as blind contour too x) But aything for the progress of art!

I like the dedication to character development stuff, expressions and personality... I like seeing that, because I've never really been one to do any of that, although I should.
Sweet sketching. Anatomy studies would really help :3 and gestures/life stuff You're on the right track, so gogogo moremoremore. Guessing the colour stuff is useful too... that gets so difficult when doing studies sometimes. Keep exercising your brain and your imagination~

Yeah I'm going to go ahead and get rid of those color things. x) Not really sketches at all! And actually I have a few anatomy pieces that I'll be posting after all of my pen sketches! Thank you for the feedback!

The expressions and dynamics of your characters are fantastic and I think you should continue doing them! I would advise to try cleaning up your linework though and trying to get it down in one stroke, you definitely have the vision to construct good characters but I think clean confident linework will go a long way in your sketches

I swear one day I'll be good. I swear one day I will be proud of my work. When that day comes, I'll need to kick my ass and try harder.

To be honest these are all already done. x) The reason the lines aren't clean is because it's all in pen. I didn't really intend for any of them to be completed. I just wanted to capture the emotion of the individual faces on each page. Thank you very much for the feedback though!
