    Spectrum Fantastic Art Live 2

Forgive me in advance for posting about something that I'm so closely involved with, but since this doesn't seem to be on the CA community's radar, I just wanted to remind everyone that Spectrum Fantastic Art 2 is coming up in May. TAD and the SVA are among the sponsors and the special guests are Peter de Sève, Jon Foster, Tara McPherson, Charles Vess, Michael Whelan, and Terryl Whitlatch. Iain McCaig, Mike Mignola, Donato Giancola, Stephan Martiniere and hundreds of other artists will be in attendance. It's an art fair, convention, and educational forum all rolled into one. You can follow the link for more info, but above all it's inexpensive to get in, inexpensive to get to (KC is a 2 hour flight from anywhere in the continental US and less than a day's drive from Chicago, Denver, Dallas, etc.), and inexpensive to stay at. As we're telling everyone, it's a golden opportunity to see art, buy art, talk art, and create art. Hope you'll consider joining us!

Lots and lots of drama on CA.org for the past week. But you know, a little positive news is always nice. So...Brian Kensinger will be appearing at SFAL2 in May. You want to hang with a bunch of today's best artists? You want to workshop and network? You want to show your portfolio to some of the most renowned art directors in various industries? And you want to do it on a tight budget? C'mon. It's going to be fun. Join us.

Brilliant! Looks like it will be a wonderful gig. Probably won't get across to this years one (close to Crystal Venom launch date) but I shall work hard on getting over for next year!

Thanks, Bill! And thanks Waipunga! A little positive news is always a nice way to end a long week. So...Paul Bonner will be appearing at SFAL2 in May.

Some people have asked if Spectrum Live is only for artists who have appeared in the annual or only for artists that have participated in the yearly competition or only for artists, period. The answer is no, no, and no. Spectrum Live is for ALL artists and for EVERYONE who loves art. We've been doing the books for 20 years and SFAL is a way of calling more attention to and celebrating the art community...without breaking the bank for anyone. There's no cap on tickets (and no high-priced tickets), no mad scramble to secure over-priced hotel rooms, no restaurants jacking up prices to take advantage of the out-of-towners, no competition with B-movie actors for the attention of the attendees. It's like we've been saying: It's about the Art. It's About the Artists. It's about time. We'd love to see as many of the CA.org members (past and present) come as possible. It is going to be a good time!
