Character of the Week #317
Mother Nature's Child
Deadline - Sunday, February 17 10PM GMT
It is said that Mother Nature is the one and only ruler of the planet Earth. At times she can be severely cruel and people seldom see her good side. But Mother Nature has kept a secret from the people of the world; a child. Said to be a myth, some people say they have seen the child in such places as an open field or lush green hills, but have no proof. A child that ever ages, but has been spotted throughout the years.
This week we would like you to design Mother Natures Child.
- Must be humanoid.
- The child must be between 8-12 years of age.
- Can be male or female
- We want the design to correlate with nature.
- Finals must be posted in the finals thread before the deadline
- Final post must include the CHoW number and the artists username at the bottom of the image
- At least 3/4 of the character must be visible
- Sketches or rushed artwork will not be accepted into the poll
- At least two wips posted in the finals thread
- Background is optional
- Have fun!
Holy crap guys, I lost track of what day of the week it was! Sorry for the late finals thread, lol.
My take on this weeks challenge is to incorporate the word Scala Naturae.
The great chains of nature and the renaissance depiction of fairies and fay.
Although mostly I wanted to stray a little towards the darker approach as a way to suggest that our transgression against nature has produced a reflection of her cruelty in the shape of innocence.

Probably not going to get much more time to work on this one before the deadline, so here it is.
she sneaks into cities without her mother consent to listen to human music X3
i hope this can be passed as a final. (fingers crossed)
Happy to join within this week!
3rd time's the charm? This time around, I imagined the child as a female aster-planting version of Johnny Appleseed. Originally intended to make her a troublesome kid, going through a rebellious phase, planting purple things to break the green overtones of mother nature-- but she seemed better all calm-like, so I went with that.

Hey, actually managed to get it finished in time. I wanted to take the design in a different direction, instead of making her out of nature i went with the idea that she is actually a child that belongs to nature and shows up when and where needed. Here she is in a dead forest bring nature back to it and is slowly dispersing with the wind.
Few, Just managed to finish it in time. I hope you guys like it.
I'm only postin' this because it took for friggin' ever to get to the final design:
