some junk I had laying around

    Hey fellas

Decided to toss up a couple things I have been hammering on lately.

    Marine dude.

This chic has been sitting on my harddrive for over a month. I couldnt ever get her to look the way I wanted. I opened her up yesteday and tweaked her some. Now I feel comfortable posting her.

This is actually a 11x14 drawing I did for a coworker. He wanted his girlfriend as a manga chic. I am not really into manga, so I did her in my style. He likes it anyway. I did get the pose from a manga pic that he gave me.

Very nice "junk"! I love the shaping you have going on in the machinery/armor and the rendering technique is very pleasing to the eye. Not that you needed to hear it from me, of course...

    hey thanks guys

I actually worked a little differently on all of these. I blew them up to 11x14 at 150dpi in photoshop and really tried to concentrate on subtle details. I also did a lot of shading with a 1 pixel brush at 50%, kinda like pencil shading. It was rather time consuming but a fun departure.

nicely understated 'junk'....of course, the name alone makes me want to enter the thread - great work as usual!

now....how's about a wee bit of data on how you operate:
drawing - inspiration, resources, paper, pencil/pens, et al.
scanning, brushes used in what software app

    Junk like that.

    That ain't no junk, man.

The second one makes me think of a house wife from an industrial future. Stilleto heeled robot boots and a huge ass vacuum cleaner.

    Hey Lono

I count your rendering style as one of my influences. I can never get it as tight as you, but I got your stylie in my head.

thats a big complament to me man.

but i gotta say,,, this is much tighter than my stuff.

seeing this stuff makes me want to work harder. espcially the first guys armor. thats about as tight as it gets without being a full blown painting.

now ive got your style in my head! off to the drawing board.
