Hi there, I'm new about these parts! Been meaning to sign up and create one of these threads for a while. With the new years resolution to do at least an hour personal work every day, I thought this would be a good way to document it.
I'm currently in my first year of a Painting and Drawing degree, and would appreciate all the feedback I can get! Yay art journey~
First art batch is a collection of stuff recently finished, traditional and digital. Will probably upload some life studies tomorrow.

great start! very delicate linework here, and alot of hard work in the figure, thats very good i read that you are in school the bests of luck! also welcome to CA could you share what are your short or long term goals for your skills?
Thanks so much! The figure and portraits are what I find most interesting, though I'm doing a lot of abstract stuff an uni at the mo. I'm sure that'll find its way here soon.
Short term goals is to get a degree, and to draw every day. Long term, I'd love to be able to support myself only with my painting. Taking commissions, giving lessons, etc. So getting to a level of skill where I can do that, I guess.
I'm liking your portraits, especially the FMA one. keep it up.
Great studies, I should draw faces as much as you do, I find it the hardest part, especially when it comes to women, any sources you learned to draw them or just practice?
http://www.conceptart.org/showthread.php?t=267414 - c&c welcome
I love the way you draw and especially your use of colour
Thank you both!! Only advice I really have is draw lots and draw from life! I wouldn't say I'm a very good teacher at the moment, haha, only gotten serious about drawing in the past year. Though I did draw for quite a few years before that. I'm very much a subscriber of practice makes perfect!
Some digital work!! Updated WIP of the Bouguereau study. Aerial cherubs done, just centaurs, nymphs, dolphin cherubs and venus herself to go -.-'
Wow very beautiful drawings! Inspiring! I gotta work harder!
Looking forward to seeing how much you improve over time if this is how much you are skilled after only one year of being serious about drawing!
I wanna try to get myself to draw daily too!
Thank you so much!! There's been a fair amount of painting and a lot of doodling, but about this time last year was when I decided painting was what I wanted to do for a living, so started studying it in a more disciplined way. Drawing every day has been a massive help, it just seems to be what gets me in the mood to be productive - rather than watch tv or game! Haha, gaming takes up way more time in my life than I'd like to admit >.>'
A finished painting! It has been painted for a competition and I've managed to get into the top 5. The next round is a public vote, and on the off chance any of you wanted to vote for me, I'd appreciate it! The public vote is open until the end of April I believe.
To vote send an email to email@example.com , saying that you want to vote for Felicity Ward

This is actually astounding work, you're very good, and you have a great sense of color; I'll keep myself subscribed to this thread, I want to see how well you improve, so you better post regularly!

Quick update! They'll probably be a bit sparse for a few weeks, as I've got a couple of approaching deadlines at uni, but i'll try to update as much as possible.
First self portrait from life. Really trying to get my life painting skills up to spec. About an hour and a half in, planning to work on it a bit more tomorrow.
