Welcome to my Virtual Sketchbook. ^_^
I plan on drawing daily and started this thread to document my improvement.
I'll update at least once a week.UPDATING DAILY
Note: not updating till the attachment manager is fixed.

Last week's stuff from reference.
One of my problems is that I quickly resort to blindly copying instead of studying/analyzing a reference... Need to break that habit!
First, humans. I can't figure out skin colour. Colours in general are a big challenge for me.
A landscape study...
And from life.

Then the stuff from imagination... what I need to work on. This really shows how I don't know anything.
One basic shape and...
...Horribly deformed humans!

It's not fair, why can't I see colours?
Some silly fish to end with
Paint and draw thingies from imagination. I want to paint forest scenery too, but don't dare to yet.
Is there a mismatch shadow - sphere body here? I don't know how to study basic shapes.
Some cool people helped with the figure.
Elbow is too low/upper arm too long. Let's not mention the hand, argh! But the colours aren't hideous this time. :3 So I have a tad of happiness.

Things I did so far this week. All from life...
I have a day off, so I'll update again this evening. :3 Hope I get my "weekly minimum" done by then!
Still a basic shape and portrait from imagination to do...
Referenced... Been contemplating painting wrapped Easter eggs for weeks (yes, they've been selling those for about a month already), finally did it! I didn't expect I'd be able to do it, but of course I hoped I would, so now I'm not certain whether or not to be disappointed! o_O
Gave up on the colour study when I started messing up the face.
From imagination... The hands are from a bit earlier.

Faces from imagination...
Spheres! They are getting a bit better. I think.
This is all I did in 24 hours. Pfrt.
You know, I just realized I'm an idiot. o_O I spend most of my time 1) worrying about money (even when I calculated my budget three times already!) 2) thinking about what I should be doing.
Deleted the previous posts, got better pictures now. Scanning might still be a better idea though.
First, the referenced stuff.
From imagination, except for the bottom left page.
From reference; started with some line practice...
Hands: left is referenced, right from imagination.
Upper right from reference, the others from imagination.
Gah, I didn't draw the past two days. Going to update daily now! Then everyone will reprimand me and kick me back into working or something, right? Oh, I forgot, nobody is interested xD
Nah, I think updating daily will help, because it'll confront me more with how little or how much I did in a day, versus just doing a weekly minimum and being proud of anything extra.
Speaking of my weekly minimum, I didn't make it last week. That's a first. Well, have to do it twice this week, then.
I don't have practica tomorrow, so I should make use of that to get rid of all the organizational stuff that's occupying my mind these days... Ah, I'll have to fix my sleep pattern -_-' Just feels kinda useless, as other people don't respect my sleep schedule. Next sunday I'll also have to work till midnight, so eh... Well, I should fix it anyhow. No sleep = no work.
You know what's bugging me as well? I have no funds to send my brother a birthday gift. While I easily postpone birthday gifts till months after date, my brother is such a great person, he deserves to get his on time! Mmh...
Anyhow, this post contains my drawings of 9 feb and 10 feb.
Imagination... Second scan is the only page I did on 10 feb.

Hey there, I see some improvements on the head and hands already, don't give up, I think posting daily will help you push yourself, and you aren't as bad with colors as you think. If you post daily you gain yourself a stalker lol.
M.Calza - Ha, I thought I was in the wrong sketchbook when I saw your comment. Thanks heaps!
And well, daily updating helps already because I'm like "Hell no, just three hands in a whole day??!!" (doodles don't count)
The mail services and uni sites I need atm are on strike, so I might have no choice but to spend time drawing. :3
Hands from life. Colooours.
A doodle ^-^
Try to make a schedule for the updating daily thing, goals, it'll help you keep focused, about the color, try to use a 100% hard brush without pressure, it'll help you pick the colors better, I'll have to do it myself too.
Keep it up!
M.Calza - Yeah, you're right (on both!). I should make a schedule. Have no idea for one yet, have to make work of it.
I also read your reply in your sketchbook. To me they look impressive o_o
So... figures! Doing some hands from imagination would be recommended too. Mmh... think I'll choose sleep instead. Well, then that's something to go on tomorrow's sloppy make-do schedule. And skin colour studies.
I like those, you should try find more subtle changes in colors I think, and would love to see a finished piece from imagination, to see where you at.
M.Calza - Hey, you were serious about the stalking part.
Mmh, well, those portraits in post n°9 and n°7 are from imagination to the best of my ability. But they are a few weeks old, so hopefully already irrelevant. xD Anyhow, remark noted.
So... I did hands from imagination. Very frustrating. I actually cheated o_O looked at my own hand when I couldn't figure out the second hand pose. There probably shouldn't be any reflected light there either, huh?
Colour studies. I actually like that butt. :3
The proportions on these are all wrong. But, birdies!

Might not have internet access later today, so I decided to post this already.
The enviro is really good, your colors are getting better.
Edit: scanned it.

M.Calza - Thank you.
Okay, I'm not going to do twice my weekly minimum. o_O I'm overwhelmed with work (and pretty much freaking out). For this week, still basic shapes and something from imagination.
From life, yesterday evening:
Work yesterday was kinda relaxing, taking my mind off everything else for a while. But now the lack of sleep finally caught up with me. Already skipped a class today to sleep a bit. I want to skip my two morning classes tomorrow for more sleep but I have practical stuff to arrange with the professors.
Anyhow, I expect to have more free time for drawing when march begins. Wishful thinking, haha. Today's stuff should have been done last week, and the quality is poor.
I thought I was finally starting to understand spheres a little bit, but nope... My problem is really: "What goes where?". How do you figure out the shape of the shade, for example? Argh. Someday I'll get this. And uhm, yes, it's unfinished because my brain is chaotic atm. Does that sound like an explanation or an excuse? >_<
And something ridiculous that will remain in sketch stage forever. It's probably for the better.
- ARGH BLARGH @ all responsibilities in life -
Today: one colour study and one figure from imagination to the best of my ability... Quite sad that this is all I can do, but I also feel good for putting the effort in.
Guess I'll regret it tomorrow - lectures from 8 in the morning till 7 in the evening and I still need some decent sleep!
Hey there! Thanks for stopping by at my sketchbook. From what I see here, I think you have already good sense of perspective, but you are little bit lacking on anatomy and value/color, so you are working on all the right things with your current studies. Keep it up, update daily and you will see progress in no time
My sketchbook - Please, help me grow Critique very appreciated
I agree with Jakub, I suggest that you go with anatomy stuff now, so that you know what you're painting, and how everything works.
jakubvavrik - Hehe, "You're doing it wrong but you're doing it right". Thanks for the encouragement!
M.Calza - Mmh, need to pick out a decent anatomy book and go through it meticulously. Hey, one can take you as a good example!
Did next to nothing today... at least when talking about drawing, I mean. Gash, I'm tired. o_O It took me ages to type out this post because my mind is blurry. You probably now that kind of tired feeling. Why is this thread turning into my interactive diary? Mmh, now let me seize the opportunity to lower expectations (especially my own, so I can stop beating myself up over doing so little): my days are stuffed with deadlines till next week Thursday, so... After that my non-school, non-household, non-work time can go to drawing again. Which also means it'd be a good idea to have a plan (schedule) and drawing book ready by then. Yaaaaay~
Going to draw from the same reference again, this week or next week, because I know I can do better.
No internet or computer this weekend... I'll manage to post something early tomorrow and Sunday evening, but probably no update for Saturday.
30 sec poses
Figure from imagination.
Landscape study. Going back to 100% opacity brush next time. I still struggle with copying versus analyzing.

As mentioned yesterday, probably no update tomorrow.
