Its' free and it takes less than 10 seconds!
Really nice work! Specially like your sketchbook sketches.
How long were those sessions in the two recent life drawing posts? 3-5 mins in the first one, 20-30 mins in the second? Is that school or just a random session somewhere? They're very good, actually. I think I might be doing that soon too. I gotta catch up to you, I'm probably really rusty at drawing from ref. Never drawn figures from life, either. WTF is up w/ the crown, haha? I know they wear costumes sometimes, but that seems random.
I think those were 5 and 2 minutes, and the second set was 25 minutes These were sessions I attended. I didnt have any drawing/painting class last semester and I was really out of practice so this summer I tried to go to these once a week x_x I wish I can afford to go more often!
Hey man, I've liked a lot the stuff , specially on this last page, it's very graphic and it has a very sensitive line, which is rare to see. The only couple sugestions that come to mind right now would be:
a) Use black lines in the key intesection points of your drawings, the increased contrast will do lots for your depth and it'll provide some line variation to the drawings. Anyway you're already doing that in your latest things, keep it up and delve deeper into it.
b)Your digitals have nice character comps, but the contrast and the lack of background ( even it's just some blurry stuff) take a lot from the images. On the color thing there's not much I can say since I'm struggling with that aswell right now, the only nice tip I can provide is to work from B/W at the begining and then color balance and a couple of color layers, and then start working purely on color from then.
Anyway, nice stuff and interesting to watch, keep it up!
I enjoy your updates, specially the sketchbook pages
Those sketches of yours, are so tasty! Pure observation, no fancy stuff.
I wouldn't bother that much with oil paintings. I was painting with oils for a couple of years, and look where it gets me
With oils colors looks slightly better but acrylic painting is just soo much quicker, and comfortable.
Wow man. I love your sketches, those tiny lines are so expressive. Do you think drawing from life (not in a studio, but in a coffee shop or something like that) helps a lot?
