    Eleze learns to draw - Happy New Year everyone :-)

    Hello everyone, I'm Ryan, I'm 19 y.o and I live in Paris, France. I'm in a design school like FZD school, but more focused on being 3D Concept Designer.

    This is with excitement and so much honour that I join the CA.org community! Such amazing talents, masters and aspiring designers there!
    I never ever ever posted a thread on this forum and I'm not used to subscribe to them (even if I'm on Crimson Daggers ).

    So here are my first scratches on my CA.org "sketchbook", taking new year resolutions I began my studies this month (Décembre 2012), I'll show these on my first post; but I'll post only studies that have less than 24h existence on the next posts.
    Tips, books, workshops, critiques are more than welcome here!

    I am committed to send:
    -Human anatomy and studies;
    -Animal anatomy and studies;
    -Transportation design and studies (cars, bots, planes, spacedonuts);
    -Character design;
    -Weapons, props design and studies;
    -Environment design and studies;
    -3D stuff;
    -cute cats launched via bazooka;
    -lot of craps.

    For my color studies, I don't color pick.

    I don't have a scanner yet, sorry for the inconvenience I had the idea to add a "stats" bar, I think it will help me to keep myself motivated (besides the amazing inspiring community here ).

    By the way, I wish you all a happy new year: a productive one, studying hard and having a very good life.

    I think I'll be scheduling workouts for each weeks. My studies would be more organized.

    I didn't update that much because of school work. Here's what I did in 2 weeks. I didn't included my sketchbook sketches (don't have a scanner yet but I ordered one, yay).

    Here's a study of the Cheetah (Guépard [gay-par] in french). I like big cats.

    Some vehicles concepts w/ some extreme rough renders of cars and spaceships. I have to render 4 cars and 4 spaceships within 2 weeks, and I don't like my concepts so I'll restart from the beginning.

    We had to create a chimera, mixing and analysing three animals: I chose the Lion/Cheetah (big cats), the mosasauridae (big marine reptile [extinct]), and the red lion fish (venemous fish).

    Any tips, corrections, design critique, comments are more than welcome ! :-)

    holy shit! just holy shit! serious work and a really awesome start for a sketchbook, cant wait to see how well you do in your school work hard dude, i dont know jack about color or painting so not really my area but your perspective its somewhat solid it gets a bit whacky sometimes but its all about the mileage, the chimera could use some work tho, you lost a big opportunity with that pose to flesh those chest muscles and show the strenght of the creature by the design it looks fast and deadly but the anatomy itself doesnt show that, i have 0 complaints in your desing skills you ahve lovely ideas and if you match that with your solid execution you can get some pretty good works done if you work on your composition and what you are trying to say, you must have a strong message to make a strong impact just food for thought, anyways keep it up! cant wait for the next batch of work

    my sketchbook! Drawing like a maniac!!

    Thank you so much Setherial, I try my best each times with minimal timing.

    Thank you lionheartGFX, you're so right about the perspective and the chimera. I applied your advices and it helped me so much, here are the results:

    Update:

    Did a 3 hours long study. I wanted a hard one for my 10th study, this one was harder than I thought.
    Especially the skin color variations which are very subtle. The color range on the skin is very limited and I spent 70% of my time refining it. I could be more efficient I think next time, but I like the result.

    Kudos to this lovely deviant, RayC187, good headshots with many details if you want references.

    Any tips, comments and critiques are moooooore than welcome!

    Hey ConceptArt community. I've been reading and studying rifles and antiques firearms as I wasn't aware of how it worked besides the "pull the trigger, boom, good job". I have to do some perspective render of 4 of them.
    I wanted to have functionnality better than the looks, like someone said "does it looks like it shoots bullets or candy?".
    I actually ended up with quite interesting configurations, especially the ultramodern standard which are the bullpups (French Famas, AUG, P90 etc...).

    Any tips, critiques, comments are more than welcome as always!
