I'm going to vote but I think there should be a "deliberately plans on refusing to vote" option

LOL, too bad that's all we've been able to vote for in awhile. We've created a political elite in this country and we need to shatter it somehow and get some fresh blood in our government that will shake things up. We're in a downward spiral right now.

Presidential elections these days remind me of the Simpsons where the aliens are the two candidates.

Man - "I'm voting third party!"
Kang - "Go ahead. Throw your vote away!"

For the most part I'm basing my decision to vote for Kerry simply for the fact that he's actually fought durring an actual war. He's a decorated veteran and most importantly knows the consequences of war, therefore is more inclined to actually give a shit about soldiers, their families, and the innocent civilians who are at the wrong place at the wrong time.

I'm doing the same thing I did in 2000... voting against Bush by voting for the other guy. Sure it's sad that it has come to that, but this year it's more important than ever to get Bush the hell out of office before he can do four more years of damage.

And if anyone is really considering voting for Nader, remember this: There are two ways to vote for Bush... One is to vote for Bush, and the other is to vote for Nader.

Well at least Kerry didn't go AWOL.

    *Runs*

Haha j/k, just fueling the flames.

I really hate Bush's neglect for the environment. That's really what it comes down to for me. There are many frightening but true articles out there. Global warming is real and doesn't take as long as many of you may think. He's just not taking any measures to prevent it. All of this is my opinion of course.

    Yikes...

    From Groover's link:

Sunday's is "Pray that the President and his advisers will seek God and his wisdom daily and not rely on their own understanding".

No offense (I'm Catholic even), but maybe that could be worded a little better...

If Kucinich hadn't been so charismatically devoid or had had an ice cube's chance in hell to win a national election he would certainly have gotten my vote based along dialogical lines. Kerry may not be Mr. Personality himself, but 4 more years of the alternative, for me, would warrant a long sabbatical abroad.

A 4 year artists tour of Europe anyone? Pending an unfavorable election result that is.
"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed, The world in arms is not a way of life at all, in any true sense. Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from an iron cross."

If I was you I'd go into the voting stall.. go out and put the empty vote into the box. I think everyone should use theyr right to vote but use the empty vote thing as a statement.

    new poll!
why not put these elections this way:

in 30 years, would you be happy to wear gasmasks and put gasmasks to your kids when going out, to support a wealthy industry?

    - yes

    - no

    - hell no

Personally, i don't think there's muuch any of us can do to stop global warming. it's inevitable. I think something bigger will happen before we have a chance to melt the icecaps, whether it be nuclear or biological warfare, mass accelerated evolution ending with colonization of space, or if the christian's are right, the rapture. the latter would be the coolest. that way we'd see if they really were crazy or not, and a world of sin and unity.

How exactly are you going to do that? A green party or Nader vote (they are not the same this year) is basically a vote for the Rupublican party.

how can a vote NOT for the republican party be a vote for the republican party? (or basically for the party)

I'll do it by not voting for either one of the 2 majority parties.

A vote is a vote...your opinion can twist it into whatever you want. But until we get enough people who want something different who ALSO have spines not to "waste thier vote" we'll forever be caught in the whirlpool of degridation.

How does this not make sense?

The problem Jetpack is everyone follows the party line like good little Republicans or good little Democrats. I think people themselves are afraid of introducing new ideas into the government. They are afraid of voting for something other than democrat or republican because they feel it's a useless vote. But if everyone voted for something other than democrat or republican, it would send a clear message to both parties that they are screwing this country over.

I personally want the government out of my life. Let me live and do my thing, I want the gov't to stay in the background where it should belong, not in my face telling me I can't do this and can't do that, I have to do this and have to do that, because the gov't says so. I just want to live my life in peace and the way I see fit.

You're right. But as long as people feel strong-armed into voting for "the lesser of two evils" nothing will change. I agree, the government should back the hell up.

I'll never vote democrat or republican again. Maybe when enough people start to think like that we can begin introducing REAL change instead of continuing to ride a political see-saw of bickering and sqabbling.
