In my effort to better my basic drawing skills and maybe also do something for my design skills, I decided to do more "Master" studies of people who really know how to handle a pencil. I did some studies of Alexandr Pascenkos traditional drawings as I really love the way he draws. For those who don´t know him, here is a link to his deviantart page:
    http://alexpascenko.deviantart.com/

I was not going for a complete copy, I tried to study how he lays down his lines, his line weight and at least a bit how he renders and designs his characters:

I also started to do some John Howe studies of his pencil work as he is most inspiring. This is from item concepts from The Hobbit:

I´m planning to do more of these studies as I found them very helpful.

I tried to apply what I have learned a day later in a figure from mind to see if anything stuck. Turned out ok, but I know, I can do better:

Some more imaginary figure work done with studies in mind during my last RPG session. It´s a character of a friend of mine playing sort of a priest of the god of the seas.

Some more studies of John Howe´s concepts for The Hobbit and a quick character sketch of one of my RPG characters. I´ve painted my RPG group about 3 years ago when I just started out to learn digital painting. Now after some more knowledge and hopefully better skills, I plan to repaint that with better design , technique and updated characters.

Some more sketches for my redraw project. Very sloppy and not accurate regarding anatomy. I´m just trying to find ideas

You have most definitely improved for the past 2-3 years ! I see you're a lot more confident with digital medium than traditional. I really really like that last background, i have a feeling that if you turn it on grayscale it will look really awesome.
I also like how you have a passion about fantasy art. I am also a big fan of fantasy and i like to see other people that share the same interests.
I don't think i can give you an advice since you are on a higher level all i can say is keep going and good luck.

I wanted to do some old masters study, but I also wanted to make a selfportrait, as I have never done that before. I could decide which one to do first, so I just combined them
