So this guy started off as a very small thumbnail at work a few weeks back. There was something i really liked about it so i painted him up. Spent a bit more time on this one and used more reference than i usually do too. im pleased with how it turned out.

He is very cool - I find the head a little confusing though, I'm assuming that there's a cyclops under there? Kinda feels like his noggin should be a little larger. The angle suggests that it could the the last thing that you're seeing after being separated from your body.

hey thanks for you comment, yeh he is some kind of one eye giant. but i liked the idea that he could have all sorts of horrible stuff going on under his helmut. his head is a little on the small side but it felt right at the time. i still dont find it that distracting but im probably bias. cheers

All good, he brings to mind some of the characters from 'Full Metal Alchemist'. You kinda expect a deep metallic rasp of a voice to come out of there. Love the work.

Great lighting and perspective! I like the feel of weights on this guys' armors and sword, certainly as well as on himself. Cool.

I like the painting as it is neatly done! But somewhere the colors are very bright! The armors and sword looks nicely painted!

There is a disconnect between the figure and the background. Usually it's the other way (the background is overbearing), but in your case it is receding too much. Increase the contrast in the buildings.

I'd also tweak the falling shadow on the guy. His belly is oddly lit, and the helmet seems to be lit by a different source, not the same that lights the figure.

Both are very good, just wish the second one wasn't so dark at the bottom.
