    experimental!

    Hi.

I am to improve on... well everything.
    And expand, of course.
I feel like I'm so limited.
Any critique is appreciated & taken into account.
    Nothing is in order.

I always thought vieras would make better thieves based on their nimble attributes.
Compared to like, moogles, who don't seem nimble at all.

    Random practice.

Hey, looking good so far. If I were you i'd try doing something with a fuller value range, it'll force you to figure out planes and details(line drawings also help with details, but not so much with planes). I think it'll be a good test to see how much you really know and what you can work on.

Anyways, like I said I think you're doing pretty good, really nice color choices(to my eyes at least). Keep up the good work .

    Some sketches.
These were done in SAI with no reference. (shame on me) I wanted to test out this "pencil" brush that I downloaded from DevART. I kind of like it.

PSG Art tutorial might help you on a overall scale, then search for other specific tools that are around conceptart.
That is well worth the full read

Some more stuff - didn't have a lot of time to browse on the internet, lately.

Felt like I needed to practice referencing poses- so I took one from deviantart. (source at bottom)

This was also a 10min speed-doodle type of thing... I was trying to push my values with this one. But I think I should practice with grayscale drawings, first. I liked how it ended up, though.

    I tried practicing more values...
    Here's the step-by-step process I used.
(I painted in paint tool SAI because it's easier for my computer to handle.)

inital sketch. I wanted it to be something that had simple shapes.

grayscale-painting, I tried to push the cold & warm values a little bit here. I like this version the best, for some reason.

I did some flats underneath. I experienced a great loss of detail... maybe I should use duller colors or brighten up my grayscale-shading.

The finished one. I thought the flats were too dark, so I added some color overlays. I don't know how I feel about it. I might revisit it some other day.

Some speed paintings I've done in the last few weeks.
Trying to practice environments... obviously need much more practice.
