OK start. I would suggest deciding on and developing a sense of light in the piece. Some foreground interest would help balance it as well.

    What would Caravaggio do?

Better - but what is the bridge/platformy thing in the foreground? It doesn't have a path leading away along the river? Left hand mountain reflection is too strong and sharp-edged...those trees would reflect a bit more...though sometimes they simply block the light and provide shade for transparency through the water. I would still indicate some reflection. They are also your best opportunity to show a little stronger light indication. In generaql I think the entire landscape surrounding the village should have many more trees...and a little more indication of activity.

    What would Caravaggio do?
