Omg, whaaaat? hahaha. That's crazy! We just had a regular persona come in, though a person i know had once a 60 year old nude model with an erection staring at her face. Your school sounds fun though, i need to get enough points to continue my studies *sigh*. It's never gonna happen.

wow, umm, i love those sexily brushstrokes. I've hear of manga studio i think, never really knew exactly what it was/does i've only ever really used photoshop to my recollection, corel painter might be fun, BUT i am not spending more money. Photoshop itself cost me ( when i was a student) my arm and leg, with the discount. I really dig how the brushstrokes blend into the hair

I purchased Manga Studio last week, it's pretty cheap, think I paid about 70Euro and it does much of what photoshop does in terms of painting. You have pencils, brushes, inks... The interface is pretty nice and so far I'm liking it.

just did 9, 5 minute portraits using http://lovecastle.org/draw/
man that's hard work, doing portraits that fast, good practise though

oh these are excellent! Your 5 minute portraits don't look like 5 minute portraits at all, and I'd never have guessed they were just random photos from the drawing script.

Your self portrait at the top of this page is my favourite - it reminds me so much of the sketches of Ian McQue whose style I adore.

Thanks for sharing the lovecastle-link! Might be useful.. Great portraits again, you really have nailed this. The one titled "morning sketch" is my favorite from this page, top notch lighting.

Your portraits are awesome, the digital one is great, you should do more of those.

thanks and yeah I should. Currently I'm looking for a workflow (and style) that works for me, something that I can use to do quick sketches as well as take those to the next level if time permits. Currently I'm not a big fan of how my digital hatching comes out and I'm unsure if it is something I should explore, maybe it's better to just develop a fast digital painting routine. Jason Seiler and Dominic Philibert do great digital hatching but painting would probably be faster and better looking. I think I'll do some grayscale blockins to get into it.

This mornings sketch, wasn't really in the mood but now that I finished it I think he would be ideal for a watercolor sketch. The ref was overlit and had dominating reds and blacks.

Another batch of 5 minute sketches using the draw script (posted before) using a brushpen and a black prismacolor art stix. It's a technique I want to get into so I can start doing live gigs, parties and such. I'm really liking the brushpen.
